Yarmulkas?
Ummm I’ve never seen a single kids wearing a yarmulke in 7 years on campus. I’m sure they wore them to temple and at other holy times, but don’t wear them just walking around campus. But I agree about the threatening.

My Jewdar is pretty incredible. You show me 100 pictures of Jews and gentiles and I think I could hit about 95% based on appearance alone.
They certainly have a right to protest but they don’t have a right to do anything they want.
Yep the main one my girls went to is Hillel Center on 3rd Street. The Chabad House is on 7th Street. I think it was a little more conservative.There's was/is some Jewish center directly across the street on 7th from where the encampments were. Any typical afternoon, there were (I assume) Jewish students at the center, standing/dancing out front, and usually blasting Zohan-like disco/dance music over the protesters. Quite a scene.

Normally to violate the rules, there must be a rule against something. IU claimed there was a rule against camping out passed following the anti-apartheid protests, and that was what was used to evict the modern day protesters.
Did the President of the University even need a written rule to evict the protesters?
If it was a private school then probably.
Typically, you would need a reason to eject people from a public university. Dunn has been used often for that sort of protest, so evicting this group after letting others use it would leave IU open to lawsuits. A public facility has difficulty legally promoting one set of speech over another.
