So was it okay for Biden,

CBS, NBC, and ABC in particular still get free broadcast rights over airwaves owned by the taxpayer. I like Crazed's idea of them declaring their biases, but I also think that the free broadcast rights should be tied to more impartiality.

People keep bringing this up but it's not true. The broadcast rights are given to the individual stations (Indy channels 4, 6, 8, 13, 59, etc.), not the networks. The networks are content providers, not broadcasters.

I first started with my urologist three years ago for the usual pissing symptoms that come with age (67 at the time). After digital exams, MRIs, and a biopsy my current diag of cancer but no big deal was the result. However, my PSA keeps rising. So we have the PSA indicating an increased chance of cancer, but it's not been borne out by subsequent testing or exams. Most recently, Doc put me on Finasteride to see what that does to the PSA. More an experiment than anything else.
Hope it works out.

Hope your urologist is a babe.

Hope it works out.

Everything has held steady for over two years now, with multiple digitals and MRIs. It's just the rising PSA that's got her stumped. High PSA in and of itself is a nothingburger, so I'm not concerned. I was willing to do the Finasteride as part of her "let's see what happens" approach just to keep her happy (and it hasn't had any side effects, thankfully). If it doesn't change anything, I'll quit it.

Hope your urologist is a babe.

Nice enough gal, but no, just a frumpy middle aged gal. We get along well.

The cancer doesn't matter, the mental decline (to be nice) was evident to anyone being honest with themselves, so to me there are three avenues of inquiry. The first is the White House staff. I believe they should have an Article 25 duty to remove the President if/when he/she becomes a turnip (to be less nice) and Congress should both question them and seek to find some way to make the 25th enforceable. Second, I believe the doctors who were supposedly giving Biden the "ok" should have their professional ethics questioned. That examination that every President goes through needs to go through and independent doctor selected by Congress IMO. Finally, I do feel like our propaganda networks need to be treated differently than they currently are. CBS, NBC, and ABC in particular still get free broadcast rights over airwaves owned by the taxpayer. I like Crazed's idea of them declaring their biases, but I also think that the free broadcast rights should be tied to more impartiality. I don't buy it was a passive cover up because they just were not asking questions. They get increased access through things like trips on AF1 as part of the press pool. They knew, but they are part of the party so they viewed it in their interests to look away. Our "press" is contemptible.

As is usually the case, there are people (looking at you Hunter Biden) who are going to escape any sort of punishment for things they are guilty of and I think it is pretty reasonable to believe that in at least some of these cases it is because they took advantage of their adjacency to a powerful position being filled by a guy who was likely nothing but a marionette for a percentage of his Presidency that exceeds zero. Nothing will happen but I would lay money that some of these folks with the autopen pardoned themselves.

This period is going to be viewed very negatively 50 years from now IMO. Just a rash of poor Presidents and poor candidates. I hope we pull ourselves out of a ditch in 28.
Do people actually think the report of Biden's cancer diagnosis coincidentally happened right before the drop of the Tapper book? Is it really conspiracy thinking to question that timing and wonder if maybe this issue might have been known before and the timing here engineered?

The irony, of course, is that the revelation of this story sure looks like an attempt to deflect news and discussion about an actual, now documented, conspiracy about covering up the President's mental health for years.

But I guess only right wing conspiracy nuts would be suspicious . . . oh wait:

They help spread the bullshit.

Honestly, my solution to a certain degree would be to make the press pool a revolving door of more local reporters from around the US. Kick the larger legacy media brands in the access and instead of having Jake "Beltway" Tapper asking questions of his buddies, let Jacqueline Smith from Chicago and John Jones from Indianapolis and Sherry Hughes from Baltimore and Ben Miller from Oklahoma City (all made up) have a month on the press pool and then rotate in a new group. I think you are more likely to get relevant questions from people out more in "flyover" country (of all political stripes) than you are from people who are part of the beltway club.

The cancer is about the least important thing about all of this but it has become the center of attention. So tinfoil hat I guess. To me it is, sorry to hear that because that disease sucks but can we get back to making sure a dementia patient can't retain the duties of President should this happen again please?

there's a more foundational problem. journalists lean left. it's a lefty field. they're wired that way. half of them probably don't even know theyre exhibiting bias just by virtue of the stories they decide to cover/present

It's equally concerning to allow someone to be president after inciting an insurrection but here we are. At least 28 can't have any worse choices.

And check who are the largest owners of individual stations and how they approach politics.

I'm always curious why people think that content creation and distribution is different than other businesses that utilize public spaces to monetize their wares.

I've long said that I don't have much against biased reporting -- so long as they don't try to present it as unbiased. This has been the standard in the UK for a long time, and it works. Everybody knows where the various news outlets stand.
But how do you ever get the truth if each side has an agenda.

It's become much worse, though, over our lifetimes.

A lot of it is due to money, though: people vote with their subscriptions and views.

But how do you ever get the truth if each side has an agenda.

Who's to say that neither side is telling the truth? Truth can be an complex thing.

What is included? What is omitted? What is emphasized? What is downplayed? What kind of language (or "framing") do they use? Are there relevant details that no outlet even knows? If so, can we say that any report is the full, unvarnished truth?

I'm sure there's a whooooole lot of "truth" that never makes its way into the ether -- whether it's deliberately kept hidden by somebody or not.

So, I'd just say that some of the onus falls on we consumers of news to discern the best, most complete version of the truth that we can. And that can be helped by having a proper understanding of a source's biases and priors....as well as a healthy dose of skepticism.

I've learned a lot of life lessons over my years. And one of the top ones is to not believe everything I read/hear.

This is what I mean by healthy skepticism.

My answer to this is: I honestly don't know...it certainly seems possible -- and convenient.

But does that mean it was not a coincidence? No. It could be a coincidence.

So, are the very limited number of people who do know for certain whether it was or wasn't a coincidence going to be honest with all of us? Well, if it wasn't a coincidence, then they've already answered that question. And we're left only with the degree to which we trust them.

No, they aren't going to be honest. They are not honest people. And before anyone goes there, neither is Trump. Obvi.

Congress can't file criminal charges. The DoJ can. Guess who ran the DoJ when the statute of limitations ran out?
Congress can and does refer suspected criminality to the DOJ for action. If they had something to send to DOJ, you know they would have. Whether the DOJ did anything with them or not it would be public and that’s what the Republicans want. On 20 Jan it was Trump’s DOJ, and Congress didn’t do it then either. Now that Biden isn’t President DOJ could investigate, charge and prosecute. Congress found nothing criminal to refer to the DOJ. That’s the bottom line.

Ironic to me is the notion that those who stated they wanted to save democracy actually threw democracy into the wood chipper with the Biden coverup.

The worst might be yet to come. There is already some evidence that Biden was unaware of some of his executive actions (LNG exports). This might be because he was too senile to remember, or it could be that was done without his knowledge. If we examine the record closely enough, he indicated he wasn’t fully aware of the extent of the border problem. If it develops some of the border decisions were taken without his knowledge or consent, we have a genuine crisis.

Doubled down on where inflation was and it wasn’t even in the ballpark. How could he be that off. Again the cover up is the worst thing in American politics in my lifetime.

Crisis? Biden isn’t the President. Was there a crisis the year after Wilson left office in 1921 because of Wilson’s incapacitating stroke in 1919?

Have you seen the number of immigrants let in. The nonconfined docket of criminals. Have gas prices gone down? Have prices gone down ? The lives lost over bail projects and defund. Did these problems instantly end because of a calendar? Good grief man.

This was the worst president in modern history and we’re stuck with his legacy. And I’m convinced it wasn’t him. He was a proxy for the worst of the radical left. This wasn’t Joe Biden. It was soros. AOC. Cori bush. On and on. The American public got duped and disenfranchised with a weekend at Bernie’s presidency.

Thank god for Dems msm is in the bag for them. This is the biggest story in American politics in the last 50 years

More and more will come out

Do you think states who paid for health care for those here without presidential authority under the immigration law would have a damage claims against the government?
Do you think maga supporters should refund the government for the public education funds they wasted?

Obviously they didn't pay much attention in class

What the Dems and complicit media did was not okay. I honestly think Biden was so out of it he hardly recognized it. I hold him less responsible. The media. His handlers. Despicable.

The idea that Trump is some how worse than that batch of Dems is absolutely comical
Blame that shrew wife of his, "joe you answered every question"

He lied about the death of his children? And wife? Please explain. Did Beau not die of brain cancer? Trying to compare Biden and Trump and their lies is a losing game for your side. Trump picks up a sharpie to lie about the weather and expects his minions to believe him. And sadly many do. The two are not, and will never be the same.
Why are Trump supporters minions? Are Bidens minions or handlers?

And honestly it would not have been that hard for biden to win again if he had just been somewhat moderate but he was controlled by others clearly. And I do not see how they pivot because their biggest voting block are the fare left right now. They claim they are for unions but the union vote they get now are teachers and government unions. My buddy is in the trades in chicago and he says all those union guys now vote trump. That used to be a 100 dem vote.
