So much winning.

We looked at the Palisade too. Very nice. I have a hybrid Maverick and the ole lady likes the gas mileage with the hybrid.
We needed a larger SUV suitable for carrying bikes, kayaks, and towing a popup camper on rare occasions. Our other car is a Mini Cooper convertible.

We looked at the Highlander, the new Grand Highlander, the Honda Pilot (which I expected to buy, since our last one lasted 20 years and 400K miles, but it needs an upgrade in tech), VW Atlas, and Mazda CX-90.

We loved the Mazda and so far it has been great. Got the plug-in hybrid version. I have a 12 mile round trip work commute, so I basically drive in EV mode all of the time, but with a full gas tank I have 500 mi range.

Dismantling the DoEd as it exists today might be one of the few things I'll agree with him on during his term.

It's not achieving its original goals. It should go.

Plenty of other agencies and departments that can be pared down, consolidated or just cut.

It's obvious that the swamp plan for decades have been to make Gov SOOO big that it would be a economic nightmare to do the proper downsizing. Slow roll over decades towards total gov control, Communism. (is that the correct form of government or should it be another one?) "I owe my soul to the company store"

They have no clue, and you and Aloha are just wasting your time. You can't guide the misguided, you can't re-raise fail children, you can't fix stupid, you can't make weirdos act normal.

When they deny professional expertise, when lies are seen as fact .. what exactly are you going to accomplish by arguing with them... They'll see the darkness and chaos they caused soon enough. The smartest and more stable of them will soon be on our side, but you can't fix the dumb ones, and especially can't fix the weirdos. They'll just bend over and take it ... with a big smile saying trump trump trump.

fwiw - does anyone actually believe Trump will serve out the first year? I don't. He's too far gone and was used as a perfect idiot for others to gain power....
I expect he and RFK are both on the CIA hit list.

More winning.

You don’t know which one of them was President first?
Obama wasn't shy about saying Trump's economy was because of Obama admin policies.

He said it back in '18 and reprised it again this election cycle.

There's some truth to that too. It takes a while for an administration's policies to change the direction of the economy. Much easier to come in and accelerate a trend, which is why Trump is probably screwed for the first couple of years. This economy is headed in the wrong direction when you start looking at the real numbers, not what has been reported and then quietly corrected after the fact.

Trump started with a good and improving economy. This is true. Presidents get too much blame and credit for the economy.

During Senate testimony, Senator Hawley grilled Secretary of Energy Jennifer Grandholm about insider trading of stocks of companies regulated by the Energy Department.
Hawley printed out that 130 'Senior Executives' in the Department had traded and profited in these stock transactions, amounting to One Third of the 'Senior Executives,' had benefitted from this practice.
Take away...there are nearly 400 'Senior Executives' in the DOE alone.
Here's hoping about 375 will be job hunting January 21st, 2025.

Rinse and repeat.

More winning. What do you think @Aloha Hoosier ?

Flag Officers all serve at the pleasure of the President and with the approval of Congress. There's not much to think about in that College Kid Twitter Twit's Tweet though. It would be far better if you linked the actual sources rather than idiotic Twits. What retired personnel? Exactly who are they reviewing? Are they reviewing the upcoming officers too? What are you winning? Regardless, the idea that military flag officers aren't loyal to the country and serve their Commander in Chief is one of those ridiculously stupid MAGA concepts.

At their level, their retirements would be comfortable....
Also cancel their security clearances and prohibit their participation in lobbying or employment by the military industrial-surveillance complex.
Heed Eisenhower's warning!

Col. MacGregor, Admiral Rogers, General Flynn, General Guy Swan, General Fred Franks...
My core group....warfighters

For what? Not being Russophiles like you? My God, you live in a very, very strange world.

As usual, don't trust your reporting.
So would you care to answer the question please? The public at large deserve an answer as this may have 1st amendment implications. If you have nothing to hide, It is an easy answer to give. Everyone appreciates a person, large enough to answer a simple question, even if it feels like negativity towards the respondent.
No one here, or anywhere is without shame. NO ONE! The truth sets you free, much more than the questioner. Answer and you gain respect. We all want that.

While I mostly agree with the emphasis of Mas's post there, you are correct that his other support makes it really strange. There is less than zero doubt in my mind, that in Nam, he had a set of ear rings made from VC ears, with a peace sign tattooed on them.

If I had been there, I may or may not have been the tattoo artist. Life's complicated sometimes.

Where in the hell do you hear this kind of shit?
I have people. Would you care to comment on the validity of the news that I have from a very reputable source? If not, why do you feel that you should not respond?
Thank you.

I think you -- and your source -- are full of shit. I also am pretty damn sure I know why someone might have jumped to that conclusion, which is evidence only that they're not too bright.

Joe, you can get a bit hyperbolic at times.
I pitied the ones we killed. They too were young, frightened and a long way from home.
Death is seldom as portrayed on tv or the big screen. Mostly, they (and we) didn't die immediately...even when horribly wounded...watching it was saddening, and never leaves ones memory....
We were disciplined and never, never mutilated the dead, nor abused prisoners.
And it was all for nothing.
Nothing, Joe.....

Just like this Ukraine fiasco...
