So what’s the penalty? Why did NBC ignore the show’s boss? They decide to just go ahead with election interference?
Nope. Seems reasonable they broke law if Trump wasn’t given equal access. I suppose there’s a process for a fine.
If Kamala went on SNL knowing Trump wouldn’t get equal access and that is against the law, she committed election interference.

Trump went on Joe Rogan and Harris didn’t. Trump shouldn’t rest until Rogan interviews her - he only has a couple more days!

She was invited on Rogan. She declined.
Rogan gave her an open invitation to appear on his show.
She had every opportunity to be interviewed by Joe Rogan.
Nothing happens on that show without Lorne Michaels say so.

IANAL but isn't that law just by broadcast station and not drilled down by a specific show on said station? So any Trump interview on NBC would count, correct?

Seems unlikely. Presidential candidates appear on shows the other doesn’t all the time and in every election. The bigger question is was the bit funny? I’ve watched nearly episode of SNL from the beginning and sometimes it’s hilarious and sometimes not. This season has had some very funny skits. Weekend Update has some really funny stuff at times. We record it and watch it later. It’s past my bedtime now. 😉
Who knew Tim Kaine is a natural comedian. He was perfect in that skit.

From what I read, SNL was unable to provide diapers and a wet pad for Trump so he backed out on principle.

That is not election interference. Election interference is when you call the governor of Georgia and tell him he needs to "find me" 15,000 more votes, or whatever it was Trump said.
I hope you are outraged by what Trump did. He should be in prison in the Benedict Arnold cell for patriotic traitors of our democracy.
Instead, he is running for President again, somehow, most likely because he knows swaying elections and buying off judges is the only way to stay out of prison.
