First of all, no honest coach with integrity is going to talk to an AD about a job before there is an actual opening. So you gotta fire your guy first. Not because of who you can get from another college - but because they have shown they aren't gonna get it done for you and your school under current circumstances. They either don't have it, or lost it, and they need a new start and new momentum elsewhere and you need a new start and new momentum here. Step 1 - cut the cord. It isn't personal. Its a professional decision.

Next, no reasonable AD is going to ask a coach in the NCAA tournament to stop preparing his team for the tournament for even a couple of hours and talk about a new job. Shows a tremendous disrepect to that coach, that team, that school. Coaches need 48 hours in a day this time of year already. So do their assistants - who also have futures on the line. So step 2 is "wait until you can talk to ALL of the guys you might want to hire so you pick the right one in the right circusmatcnes - not a flavor of the minute." No honest coach with integrity is going to demand you forsake all others and look only at him. He is willing to prove his worth and put his PROGRAM up against all comers. He is not offended if you do your due diligence. and you cannot be offended when he makes you wait until he has finished his season.

The Hickory Barbershop doesn't hire.

Dolson knows what he is doing.

Y'all don't.

Yeah, but I'm sure they've made known through the grapevine what IU will be offering potential candidates. That being said, I'd think we'd hear more chatter if PoMo was the guy.

Dolson has proved he is in way over his head
This makes zero sense. He previously made a great head football coach hire. He appears to be following a very methodical process here also to hire our next BB coach. You are criticizing him while he’s apparently still interviewing and getting candidates. The friggin tournament is still going on so he can’t even talk to these potential selections yet either. Lord.

Not trying to bust your chops or anything, but Allen was a Glass hire. In fact, I can't think of any head coaches that Dolson has hired in his short tenure. His first hire is going to be his biggest. I'm rooting for Scott in every way possible. He's in one helluva position.

I wrote something similar, albeit more polite (this is NOT the MTIOTF I know), on the premie.

Everything is ok.
