Cignetti is a far better coach than Moore. The assistant coaches just got a huge raise too.
Yes I agree,the assistants seem very loyal to Cig but even with the raises I’m sure Michigan could top it.
No. I expect that place to be a roaring dumpster fire next year. The head coach is in over his head. He's currently benefiting from Harbaugh's time there. They horribly underperformed (save for in Columbus) this year. Anyone would be crazy to jump on that sinking ship.
Seems incredibly unlikely, to me. Shanahan, I wouldn't think, would take a lateral move. Maybe if Bostad wanted to become an OC, and they were looking for an OL guru...maybe he'd jump at it? And/or maybe Sunseri, if they wanted a QB whisperer to come in with Underwood? But I would be surprised if Michigan weren't going big game hunting for this position. Established NFL QB whisperer type guy that has had OC experience before. I'm sure Underwood's "people" have some influence in all this, so it'll be someone that has a proven track record with QBs.
Larry Ellison has his checkbook out. Nothing is unlikely any more.
I think the loyalty of the assistants to Cignetti is so strong none of them would consider a job of any kind against an IU opponent.
Saw an interview with Urban Meyer a few weeks ago. He told the story of when he took a head coaching job and he sat down with the AD and said if you want to build a successful football program, we cannot loose a Coordinator to another school for the same job. We can only loose them if they go on to a HC job. Basically saying, I need the money to keep these guys from jumping only due to money. Sounds like Dolson gave Cig the funds to help make that same concept come true. Not saying he might not loose one to a lateral but at least he will have the resources to try and keep it from happening.
Out of curiosity, I looked and it appears UM's assistants pool is $6.5-7M. Ours is $11M. How wild is that?

They should look at Alabama OC Nick Sheridan. He did play at Michigan. 😂
I agree UMich could top an offer as well. But we have a very visible program on the rise and our head coach was not suspended for 6 of the teams 13 games last year.
