Saturday will be very ugly.

Davis is important to this team. He hasn’t been 100% at all this season, but there were games he was probably 80-90% and was able to give us decent minutes. You can see a difference in the team’s record and the quality of teams they are capable of beating if Davis can give us some minutes and let others rest. We beat Marquette, UofL, and Butler with Davis playing in the 15 minute range. Davis didn’t play at all against Michigan and while we still may not have beaten them, it may have been closer had he been able to play. Davis limped through about 2-3 minutes of playing time against Maryland and Nebraska, both games winnable, and we couldn’t maintain the lead or get over that hump. I suppose it could be coincidence.

Davis has been either hurt or recovering his entire career at IU. He was hobbled Monday. And you are right, this team needs him to support JM. Going into this game this short handed is ugly.

Davis should probably sit out a month and simply try to heal. That would give him the best chance at helping IU. But there is no one else ready to play so Miller cannot do that. Tough situation.
