I would be hesitant to risk RL getting in foul trouble guarding their star player in their home gym.
With the game at West Laffy, I expect those fouls Romeo is used to drawing will suddenly morph into charging fouls against him. It never fails, the mystique of Mackey. The formula for beating IU (and beating them soundly) is fairly simple-Find a way to limit the playing time of The Juwan and Romeo Show. Painter will find a way, if the refs don’t. If nothing else, Painter will incite the crowd. The crowd will intimidate the refs and IU fans will be left lamenting “wait until we get another crack at ‘em in Assembly Hall (formerly known to opponents as “Disassembly Hall”). I see it coming because I’ve seen it all too many times before.
Could be, but the fact remains he draws fouls. If the refs don't call them there is not much he can do.
Williams has saved Purdue's season. Finally got minutes and is producing majorly. He's a beast. Basically Caleb Swanigan Jr
Purdue went from having absolutely zero post game the first 10 games to having a big time option all of a sudden
A couple games ago it was their Wheeler who had finally arrived. Haven’t heard much about him since. Maybe they’re saving this secret weapon for Saturday.
Well that may be an issue. Juwan is doing what he can but Davis is hurt and Fitzner is a joke in the paint. Painter always plays IU very physical and beating on Juwan may be the best strategy. I think he is tired as it is. No help due to roster and injuries.
Going into a game short handed where the strategy will be to pound on you is a tough task. This game is their season and it will be a shit show.
This whole thing is ridiculous. This couldn't be a better setup for IU to respond with a win at PU. IU coming off a wire to wire blowout loss to Nebraska at home. PU coming off a easy blowout at home vs Rutgers. IU will come in focused, PU will come in settling for three point shots. It will take time for the game to settle in. Purdue will have to adjust from the type of effort they received from Rutgers. IU could easily win this game. How will Purdue respond to the effort IU will undoubtly give this game? We'll see. If IU doesn't come out with the effort that I would expect, then there is seriously something going on with this IU team.
If all fairness, both Wheeler and Williams play has coincided with Purdue playing well. If you think Williams is a “secret” you haven’t been watching.
Hopefully Morgan finds a way to win the match up in the paint but this isn’t the same Purdue team from 5 weeks ago. Won’t be easy.

Sadly I agree this team has better talent but no chemistry to play together. Seems like Morgan and Romeo are trying to see who doesn't want to take over . All the handoff offense does is bring 2 defenders to the ball. Skip passes and over the top to the corners to get things moving
We could easily lose the next three if you look at the schedule. That would be a six game losing streak.
I certainly do not think it will be pretty nor do I think the Michigan game at home will be all that pretty. The team right now just does not give a guy any reason for optimism.

Different. They expected to beat Nebraska at home. This game is a rivalry and on the road. If they aren't ready, or focused. Then IU has major issues.

Eastern is garbage. I love his helicopter mother whispering sweet nothings into his ear telling him he's NBA material.
He can't shoot and has a weak handle. He should be a small 4 but momma says his ticket to the NBA is to be a big, tall, clumsy point guard.
The best thing for kids is to let them breathe and grow by getting out of the way and letting coaches coach their kids.

I was hoping we could dance around and spit on their center court logo like Miller and Cardinal did when they kicked our asses in the hall for the 3 out of 4 times in the 90's.
My guess is IU will jump out in front early, Purdue will claw their way back and it will be a close game at the end. Is the FAVORITE every comfortable in this rivalry? Either way it will be a big stepping stone for one of the two teams.

You are right, our D hasn't been great this year. Although the last 3-4 games it has appeared to be much better. Still not great.
Ok... Every team generally gets some benefit at home. Purdue has never received anything egregious like you claim though.
The difference however is that Purdue plays with pride, heart, and mental toughness. This IU team has shown none of those things, so there is no reason for any of us to expect it.
The mental toughness we used to have as a program left with Knight. Now we just have a bunch of excuses and pampering of players that clearly don't deserve it.
I expect Morgan with 2 fouls early (as per usual)then he will take a seat while Purdue goes on a run. We will then play Fitzner 15-20 minuites for god knows what reason. IU will go on a mini run in the second half to give Archie something to gush about in the postgame. Then we will lose something like 80-67.
It will be another embarrassing weekend littered with excuses/false hope and followed by another mediocre finish in conference. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt it. This team doesn't even play hard when the going gets tough, they wilt and quit. It's hard to even take pride in as a fan. Sad state of affairs.
He's definitely cooled off some but still playing quite well. Mostly people are talking about Williams because he's been such a pleasant surprise.
I don't know about that. IU is still a good team and I could see US getting into foul trouble.
I hope you're right. Purdue needs to string wins together. We'll see Saturday.
