Most amazing great playing and choking back and forth 3/4 times today. I love that he got this win!Are you really going to break our hearts again? Please get it together.
A ball deader is a ball less active, one less energize-able.Absolutely ridiculous how far Rory hits it.
I didn't watch much but yesterday he hit one 347. That is almost video game numbers.
Bryson hit an iron today off the tee on a par 4 that is 450 yards long.
Should they make the ball deader? If that is a word!
Put it on the golf board. On a serious note what a comeback. He could of folded but got it done. Are you really going to break our hearts again? Please get it together.
one of my buddies said it was like watching a Greek tragedy, which is how it felt. Not surprising that emotional outburst on the green given that it's been building for 10+ years and then had all those highs/lows to deal with in the last round.Never seen a mixture of clutch and choke like this. Unbelievable.
Not sure they were playing overly slow? They had to wait on the back nine on a couple holes, which is rare for the Masters, with only 50 ish players making the weekend.I put a lot of Rory's problems yesterday squarely on DeChambeau. He's a crowd favorite and actually works very hard to grow his fan club. Loved seeing him stop on his way to the first tee (of the biggest round in his life) to sign a few autographs. Seemingly a good guy. But dang, does he squirrel around on the course taking sooooooooo long to play. I thought he had really gotten under Rory's skin by the second hole. Could have been that double on hole one, though. Either way, I think most players don't love being paired with him. Then when he started struggling, that takes a toll on the playing partner too. Rory overcame a lot.

In the green jacket interview (I think) Rory said the double bogey on 1 actually forced him to focus in and he thought helped calm him. He seemed pretty locked in and I didn't feel like I ever saw him get frustrated with Bryson's play. He is very deliberate but there have been tons of guys on tour (Sergio, Kevin Na, etc....) who play that way and I think at this level players get good about blocking that out and focusing on their game.I put a lot of Rory's problems yesterday squarely on DeChambeau. Yeah, I thought the support for both Rory and Rose was pretty surprising, given that both are Euros and I think the Ryder Cup as polarized a lot of galleries. I heard one of them talking about Augusta and they said it's a pleasure to play in front of those crowds, so I think they sense something special about Augusta National too.I was surprised at how many Rory chants I heard.
The support was more evenly split than I expected.
At actual golf tournaments, especially at a place like the Masters, Rory is the most popular golfer, by a wide margin, currently playing. I should say when Tiger isn't there. Scheffler has played his way in to that conversation as well. But Rory is the dude... actually at the tournaments.Yeah, I thought the support for both Rory and Rose was pretty surprising, given that both are Euros and I think the Ryder Cup as polarized a lot of galleries. I wasn't trying to rate them, but I'd say a big part of that was Rory was winning most of the day so thats gonna generate lots of cheering too. The loudest roar I heard yesterday was when Rose made that putt on 18. I don't disagree Rory is now the most popular player worldwide I was just saying I thought both had great support yesterday when often I hear catcalls from US galleries for Euro Ryder Cup players. Bryson is the most popular player, overall, when factoring in social media, in the world. Without question at this point. But for paying patrons, again especially at an exclusive and traditional place like Augusta... it should be no surprise that Rory was the most cheered for player. You could audibly hear the difference, all day long, in Rory cheers and everyone else's cheers, including Bryson's.
Exactly, it would lessen the distance that the pros could hit it.A ball deader is a ball less active, one less energize-able.
I think an awful lot of people were also cheering for Rory to get the Grand and because of how agonizingly close he has come before. It was great drama. I was so nervous I could barely watch! Great shot! Oh no… great shot! Not again! At actual golf tournaments, especially at a place like the Masters, Rory is the most popular golfer, by a wide margin, currently playing. Oh no, I get it. I was just throwing my limited knowledge in that Bryson is actually the most popular overall golfer in the world, right now. But that's because he brings in A LOT of more casual fans that follow him on social media, and view him favorably against the older "establishment" part of the golf world.I wasn't trying to rate them, but I'd say a big part of that was Rory was winning most of the day so thats gonna generate lots of cheering too. People almost always want bigger, stronger, faster, farther, more, more, more. It’s what creates excitement, attention, and advertisers.Exactly, it would lessen the distance that the pros could hit it.
Nicklaus said it should be done years ago.
I think more people are quitting the game than people starting it. One couldn’t help but notice the multiple Masters ads promoting the game of golf for kids. New blood is needed for vitality of the sport. Like everything else, it’s all about staying aboard the money train, otherwise it’s “Next stop, Willoughby!”Watching Rory lose the lead in two holes was starting to remind me why I gave up the game of golf, although I was addicted to it.
LiV vs PGA tours makes a huge difference to the Patrons.I was surprised at how many Rory chants I heard.

Was there Saturday/Sunday and agree the crowd was very pro Rory particularly after Bryson came undone. You always knew where Rory was on the course after a great shot. Plus the chants—which I’m not a huge fan of tbh while other groups are getting ready to hit close by as was the case with 15/16. Watching the scores come up on the board and resulting cheers/groans having no idea what happened (like Rory on 13) is so cool and old school. Priceless.Oh no, I get it. In person, at events, you tend to have more traditional golf fans. I'm sure those numbers are changing as younger fans are following it more. But at a place like Augusta, that will take a little longer to take over like it has elsewhere. From every account I've heard, and read, Rory's "roars" were markedly louder than anyone else's.
Rose's putt was a huge one too though, obviously. One of the accounts I heard was that no one has ever produced roars like Tiger has...but Rory's putts on 10, 15, 17...came about as close as they have heard.
So jealous. So so jealous. Had to be an amazing experience. Was there Saturday/Sunday and agree the crowd was very pro Rory particularly after Bryson came undone. I personally hate tampering with any aspect of the game, but when guys are hitting 8 irons into a par 5 green as their second shot, something is a little off. 13 and 15 at Augusta have always been the greatest risk/rewards holes on tour. But that was when a player was weighing the risk of nailing a low iron (2-4) into those greens and hoping it can stay on.Exactly, it would lessen the distance that the pros could hit it.

Have never been on a Sunday so that was special. But we have 2 badges in the family every year so have been many a time on Thursday/Friday. Which I prefer as you get to see everyone in the field and not as crowded as the weekend.Congratulations. Experience of a lifetime, I’m sure.
