Oh, I wasn't the one questioning the age of OUR banners... you know, ones won in real National tournaments and not bestowed by a committee years later, now was I? You can try and turn it around, but I see how you're twisting in the wind. And, fwiw, I am a friend of PU on here and recognize and often tell my fellow Hoosiers to pipe down about the Boilers until we are beating you regularly again. Tip of the hat to your program and this is one of MP's finest coaching jobs, btw. And yes, while our banners are getting a might dusty and need updating and some company... we both know that at least we have them, and how it must suck to not have ANY, now don't we?

Many of us that never went to Purdue , who support them, had just as much of an opportunity to like IU as we did Purdue. Hmmm... Nobody forced us into liking the teams we did, so the banner talk is ridiculous, I could of chosen to be a fan of IU just as easy as anybody else, just couldn't stand the site of Bobby Knight and his tactics on and off the court, so my choice was fairly easy. Anybody that supports that nonsense is crazy!

so you just happened to bump into crean in the parking lot and he lets you shoot around in assembly hall? unfreakingbelievable! how did you get into hinkle and and the hoosiers gym? your vacations are much better than mine. i'm so stinking jealous. i know i am older than you but i would like you to consider adopting me.

p.s. i see you got your boy holding that follow through

It was just a stroke of luck with Crean. We went in and were walking around the upper concourse and he was actually running laps (it was an incredibly hot dry summer so I guess he didn't want to run outside), but I didn't want to bother him then. As we were leaving he was out talking to Derek Elston and so we approached them and started chatting, got the pic, and I told him about all the sites we'd visited and he said "then you've got to shoot in our gym!" and he arranged for the grad asst to take us to both Cook and Assembly Hall! The others we just stopped in w our ball. I'd actually made arrangements with a friend of a friend to get to shoot in Bankers Life but that got scrapped because they were working on the floor, but we did get to watch George Hill workout, which was pretty amazing as well. Hoosiers gym was easy, it was open for tours before 5 I think, and there was an old timer volunteer who showed us around and let us shoot. Hinkle, New Castle and SHS, we just stopped in and started shooting. All that and I'm still not sure Longs Donuts didn't make the most lasting impression on my son... but I understand: that is 1 good damn donut!

I think summertime was key as there weren't many people around to stop us. Hinkle was pure luck... they were having a volleyball camp and we got to shoot while they were taking a water break.

I didn't know you could do it either, but we tried and it worked, so we kept going.

I'm too old to think about more chilluns! How about we go shoot somewhere and grab a beer after? Of course, i live in NC!

Unless you were planning on paying parental support, in that case, welcome home Son!

PS. and while I HATED the way Crean's teams played and I didn't think he was the right man for the job, he was very kind to my son and me that day.

My only other experience with IU's head coach was getting told by Bob Knight that practice was closed and me and my buddy had to leave when we tried to sneak in to AH to watch a practice.

Was hard to know how ready De’Ron would be coming off of Achilles surgery. Hindsight is 20/20, but I can understand the thought in the Spring that they may need another big.

hard to know last Spring? I'm sitting here right now, and we still need another big!
