I can't wait to beat Nebraska's ass in 2026.
The biggest hurdle they're going to face going forward is when other teams adopt the Moneyball approach too and it becomes a lot harder to find those G5 diamonds who can play.Dumb premise. Assumes Cignetti won't be able to backfill going forward. If he can find that production to go to JMU he can find it to go to the Big Ten. Plus he got transfers from other schools also. This year's favorable schedule might not always be there but if he sticks with looking for production over star rankings, I don't see why success won't continue. And I doubt a 60+ year old coach with the discipline he and this staff have shown will all of a sudden get star struck by 4 or 5 star recruits. He's already addressed his plan to start building the foundation with high school kids in the regular recruiting cycle. If anything this year's success will help with recruiting. To me something to look for will be how well he can replace assistants if they get bigger offers elsewhere.
"In Cig I trust" He knows what to do! Trust the process. The biggest hurdle they're going to face going forward is when other teams adopt the Moneyball approach too and it becomes a lot harder to find those G5 diamonds who can play.
Replacing his assistants will be key. We all know how Allen did in that department. In CIG we trust.Dumb premise. Assumes Cignetti won't be able to backfill going forward. I think that's where the skill of talent evaluation comes into play. PU threw money at SEC castoffs this year and think Allen did that a bit too - didn't amount to much. Finding the talent and character that fits isn't something everyone can do. I'd argue that's been an issue with our other big sport lately. The biggest hurdle they're going to face going forward is when other teams adopt the Moneyball approach too and it becomes a lot harder to find those G5 diamonds who can play.
Ironic given that Rhule's one microwave season at Baylor has turned into 2 different high paying jobs where he's in over his head.I can't wait to beat Nebraska's ass in 2026.
Exactly. Me thinks that Nebraska f**ked up again and they're regretting it already.Ironic given that Rhule's one microwave season at Baylor has turned into 2 different high paying jobs where he's in over his head.
