Recruiting Bigs

Re: You already know the answer to this.

You avoided comparing wives. Your wife probably looks like Gene Keady.

I'm not the type of guy that has a boss. I am the boss.

Maybe follow this up w/ a Brad Stevens post

...since you are lobbing out softballs to the ole Peegs discussion board.

Re: why do think it would've expanded?

This makes little sense. If NV was promised CWats role, that would have nothing to do with Cody staying or leaving.

Let's see.....

30,000 post versus 1,700 sounds a little bit like the pot calling the kettle black. VBG

Re: why do think it would've expanded?

NV wanted to be the man, showcase his skills and then move on..with Cody here that doesnt happen...turns out it didnt happen anyway

You still havent explained why his game would expand, when it didnt expand. They say that the biggest jumo is frosh to soph and he he didn't make much progress, not sure how you can say he would undoubtedly have improved

Re: So you really think CTC

Because he didn't play ver much? I dont know, or care I barely follow the NBA

Re: why do think it would've expanded?

Although Cody came into college more highly rated than Frank Kaminski, one only needs to look at Kaminski's career at UW to understand no one hopes or expects them to be at their best as sophomores in college. Believe me when I say Charlotte didn't draft Cody thinking he had maxed out at IU.

Are you purposefully being obtuse?

Not lately is referring to the fact that Scott might not have a high post total what he does have seems to have been accumulated in the past 2-3months. Scott has definitely made his presence known

Re: why do think it would've expanded?

Not every player gets better the longer they stay in college..some players even regress..I would put Pritchard in the category of not showing much improvement, his Orating went down and turnover % went up,

Sheehey didn't improve much from the end of his soph. His Orating declined each of his last two seasons

VJ didn't improve that much, his eFG% was about the same as a senior as it was a frosh, so was his TO rate, steal % and his assist rate went down

Those are just a few of the examples

Like I said the biggest jump is generally from your freshman year to sophomore year, and CZ not only didn't make much of a jump he actually regressed in many areas. Orating, eFg%, went down, and his turnover rate went up.

Its just as easy to argue that CZ left because he knew he needed to leave to make himself a better player

Maybe Charlotte drafted him because they saw what he was capable of dong in the right system, and coaching?

Re: +1,000

got your drift the first time, however it didn't address the issue of a 30,000+ poster chiding one with less than 10% of the one doing the chiding.

Guess what...

A player's O-rating can go down as a coach brings in better offensive players and offensive strategy is shifted to the better skilled. A perfect example is looking at Yogi, in his third year versus his second, having brought in JBJ and other outside shooters.

Sheehey's problem was trying to go from a player who complemented others, to a player who others were to complement. It didn't work, he was far better coming off the bench without great expectations. He was better as a follower than as a leader. He couldn't lead by example when it came to offensive punch.

I think Cody and Vonleh would have both been better college players had they played together.

When Crean brings in 5-star freshmen, you can expect the offensive stats of lesser upper-classmen to usually suffer.

Re: Guess what...

Guess what you stating something that might happen in the future doesnt make it a fact...and orating wasnt the only areas those players regressed...though im not sure why playing with better players would cause a player to be less efficient but anyway

We're talking offense...........

What don't you understand about not having to rely on a more veteran player when a 5-star comes in and takes his share of shots, rebounds, assists, etc. That share comes out of a total and is usually a better than proportionate share. If share of the offense dwindles for others, because of the newcomer 5-star's presence, one can expect his offensive numbers to dwindle as well, even though efficiency percentages can go up or down.

A good illustration would be Yogi's impact on Hulls as a point guard, as Hulls became mostly a shooting guard. Blackmon's impact on Yogi as a scorer, etc.
