More than anything else this should have clued us in that Cig was getting ready to sign a new contract. Baldwin wouldn't sign without assurances that Cig would be here for his senior year.
Or just coach him up like he does everyone else and leave the presumptions of an 18 year olds character at the door. Not sure if I am missing a piece of the story, but if this negative perception is from him decommitting then I think that assumption of needing to be humbled as a prima donna is a bit much.I hope Cig humbles the shit out of him, makes sure the kid puts team above self and…..molds him to the best player he can be. He’s committed to a really good coach. Leave the prima donna stuff at the door.
Yep. If he was awful we would have cut bait.Or just coach him up like he does everyone else and leave the presumptions of an 18 year olds character at the door. Yeah, I actually have a great deal of respect for how he handled it, and I know plenty of grown folks that could take a lesson from him. His recruitment blew up and he had tons of new opportunities. He informed us that he was opening up his recruitment and didn’t make these visits under the guise of being “committed” which is something that is complained about endlessly on here. He said that he was still very interested in us and proved that it wasn’t just lip service which hardly ever happens. After exploring all his options and gathering information he made the decision that all the things that made him feel good in the first place about IU trumped the alternatives. I hope when my son is 18 that he can handle a stressful, life altering decision in the same fashion.Yep. If he was awful we would have cut bait.
