Reality check for the anti-Beard folks…

This doesn't seem to be the case here at all. I'm quite certain the two broke up it has been over 2 years with no other occurrences (to our knowledge) and no previous occurrences. One off things while they may seem horrible, cause me less issue than if he had a history of DV or if he and the supposed victim got back together and it happened again.

Beard is smart he more than likely made a mistake, probably aided by her actions, and he has paid his debt.
You an I think alike. Some aren't ever going to think like that though and really nothing you can do to change their minds. They are dug in.

Maybe. I think the bones are good enough for some upgrades. Bringing the seating level on the east side to the same height as the west would probably make it a 70k kind of capacity. I know there's things in the works.

As someone who frequents both venues regularly, I'd actually rather they replace Assembly Hall first.
Adding seating would work. It’s hard to become a fooball school when your stadium only holds 52,000. And not to mention struggle to sell it out. If Cignetti has another good year they will start packing it and need to add seats.

It is worthy of note that she was represented by counsel. His letter effectively ended any 'hope' she had of getting any $$ out of the situation, as it was published very shortly after the fact. That's a pretty big step to take for the attorney, if he thought she was giving up a windfall........

I will never ever condone putting hands on a women. So I understand the sentiment but I also understand that sometimes the details are different than the perception. I know someone whose ex-GF went nuts and came at him with a baseball bat. He blocked it and shoved her down and he went to jail. Tough situation for a guy in this type case
I know of a guy who went to jail for a weekend because his girlfriend made up a story about him. She later admitted nothing at all happened between them but the damage had been done. All you have to do is just make an accusation alot of times it seems. And there are people who will believe the accusation no matter what.

memorial is one of the worst in BIG and Assembky is ranked near the top of college basketball. Not sure I agree with your thoughts on replacing assembly before Memorial.

Not all at. That's simply how I perceive the situation. As I've maintained, if it's good enough for Dolson, it's good enough for me. If it's Beard, I'll trust he's the right hire ... and be all in.
There you are on that fence again, you write a novel as to why he shouldn't be coach and then in the next breath if he is the choice and Dolson is good with it I'm all in.

You keep rockin' it is fun to read.

Especially if they were running for office or Supreme Court ;)

Just a guess, I suspect we won’t add too much more capacity. The key to boost our revenue is premium seating and suites. I would guess once Scott gets enough corporate interest and commitments the East and West stands will get renovated with that in mind. Fortunately the north and south endzones look pretty darn good and have some nice facilities as well know.

These stories are always out there. I dated a girl who was 5'10 and I'm 5'11, during our breakup it got sideways one night. Started out with just arguing, then she began to get physical, punch after punch. I finally made it outside, a buddy of mine was meeting me at her house and showed up she swung on him hitting him in the mouth. I turned around picked her up and put her on the ground. Welp next thing you know her Mom has called the cops, two cars showed up and I was about 5 minutes from a trip to jail. Thank goodness my friend was there and the girl said it is not his fault or guess what I'm guilty of potential DV.

I don't judge CB because it was one time, my occurrence was one time. To label someone for one offense which didn't lead to an arrest is foolish IMO.

My point is if the same incident had occurred in Lubbock or Waco would the results be the same? Obviously Oxford didn't have a problem with it.
Texas is a world class university. Ole Miss and Texas Tech are...not remotely close in stature to Texas, or to Indiana, for that matter, and we're not an elite institution (outside of a few schools on campus).

I believe Indiana's reputation, particularly given our history with coaches with stains on their CV, makes us closer to Texas than to Lubbock or Oxford in terms of how we'll view him.

FWIW.....,the BTbanners group are now latching on to a Scott Drew rumor out there. Trilly may be behind it.

Every day the wind changes directions.

Come May, we may not have any players left on the roster, but sounds like we've signed 8 different head coaches.
Now its Drew? I wonder who it will be next week.

Myself i have never had any but its not up to me to judge others actions especially if I was not at the situation. A false allegation can happen to anyone even those who think they are holier than thou. I know of someone who did and he life was hell for awhile not to mention lawyers fee's all on a made up false allegation. She made it up because she was made he was not going to date her anymore.

There's another angle to this that just occurred to me. Beard has been through the media fire at Miss. already. While its a football school, he still went through the scrutiny and reopening of media scrutiny'publicity. he may not be willing to do that again right now....particularly since it will likely be even more of a publicity news event with IU. Neither need that kind of publicity....not just IU. Why would Beard want to relive the scrutiny all over again?
He wants to win a title and he can at IU

Jim Coyle says he would crawl through broken glass for this job. Whether we hire him or not he is interested so the whole IU cannot get any big name is nonsense. It's whether they choose to get them or not.

The thing is, and I don’t relish saying this, but in 2025, I think Indiana is in the same boat. We’re not going to otherwise attract a coach of his caliber. It just isn’t happening and lots of folks are in denial about it but I think it’s the truth.
TBD.

Redo the east side to match the west. Build a new press box and media center. Replace bleachers with seats with backs.

Ok. Read their reasoning on why their take on Memorial Stadium is as negative as it is. I'd say last season, the majority of that didn't apply. I'll agree, if like past years, your sitting there in the 4th quarter, down by 3 or more scores, amongst 15,000 or less fans... Starting with the Nebraska game this past season, that place was lit. Much moreso than the basketball games we attended this year.

The seating inside say, 30% of SSAH pretty well sucks. Even with the improvements, there are still obstructed views. The tunnel vision seats in rows 36 and above are awful. The balconies, nuff said. Still, when it's a good opponent, and we're playing well, it is an experience for sure.

I wish we'd get something more along the lines of Kohl or Pinnacle Bank Arena.

there are still those who think we have the white whale signed to a secret deal, being held in a vault and just waiting for the season to end before the big reveal.

Next week it will probably be Oats or Pearl.
Then back to the white whale again.
Yep I cannot believe how many people are falling for the Brad Stevens stuff again.

I can’t believe people are having a nervous breakdown over the possibility that IU may not hire Beard. They will automatically think he wasn’t hired because of the DV case, when it very well could be that there are 2 or 3 interested candidates that are better coaches than Beard-because they are.

I like Beard more than Drew, but Drew (not my 2nd choice) would be a big time hire nonetheless.

...If this was a one off , people make mistakes , learn from those mistakes, and then move on.
From the police report, it was a heck of a one off. Bite to the arm, MULTUPLE cuts to the face, deep bruises on her legs...

Fact is, if the DA hadn't screwed up and gone for the biggest charge of strangulation, he was in trouble. This wasn't he said / she said.

Nobody is having a nervous breakdown at all. People are just saying he would come to IU if offered. I guess we will see who we can get but if we really settle it wasn't because Beard turned us down. IU is good at making bad hires so I guess we will see this time.

I think much of it is little more than anti-IU trolls living out in the cesspool social media world-or just starting burner accounts on websites claiming to be ''in the know", just getting their kicks by preying on a certain group of the most desperate, gullible section of the IU fanbase.

And I'll go on record, once again, saying..I hope I have to eat all those words above. But I won't have to.

Really! Who are these 2 or 3 better coaches that would be interested? You just assume because you’re against hiring Beard.
