QB Jacob Bell visiting IU Saturday

Because our defense is outstanding against the run, and that is ND's offense. Do you think the Irish will score at least 5O on us? Maybe they go to 60! It took two special teams errors and a late short field for the Buckeyes to even get past 17.
Why are you going from 30 to 50 or 60? And why would I think that? I didn't say they'll score 30, the betting markets did. May be incorrect, but not ridiculous.

Do I think they'll get 30? Maybe, if we lose. I chose 27 figuring a tough game. I hope you're right and I'm giving them too much credit!

Buckeyes' didn't get 14 off special teams or otherwise they don't get those points, they would have two additional drives to get points, may have had 6,7 or even 10 anyway. But our defense played them well. I think ND is at least as smart and solid as Ohio State. We'll see.

Sorry, but living in the northern part of the state I have been fed up for years on the notion that ND Is always incredible and we are always terrible. Even in good seasons like this we don't get any credit. And to say we are far worse than schools in the MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt is riduculous That is why it is so important that we win this game. I think ND has to receive turnovers or special teams mistakes to give up that much.

I guess that bodes well but again what does a "commitment" mean these days when it seems like kids can just change their minds.

Seems unlikely we’d take a freshman QB at this point unless one of the RS Frosh QBs are leaving. Even then, it’d be nice to have another QB on the roster with at least a little bit of game experience.

Why not? It balances the classes to some degree... You always want to be developing a true freshman if the option is available...

My only concern about this scholarship is that we might have an area of greater need and a limited number of scholarships left...

I like it!

We appear to be set at QB going forward...

Who knows, if things work out well we might not have to hit the Portal for one a couple of years in the future... At minimum we can afford to actually miss on a Portal guy going forward without devastating consequences...

Good spot to be in at a key position...

Right, Coach Cignetti mentioned that he will over recruit the 85 number to allow for attrition after spring.

I would really like Tayven to succeed because I like running QBs. Especially at the college level.
But I think if he enters the portal it will likely be following a talk with the coaches that he is not going to start.
My recollection is that he's really not much of a runner - wasn't in HS at CG either, which is one reason that Brandon Sorsby beat him out as starting QB under Allen.

But in comparison to Rourke you could see good wheels this year when Tayven played. Him taking off has to be accounted for. Not not a natural gamer like Sorsby, but when he does run he can move pretty fast.

I like Jackson, he looks like he did improve a lot. Hopefully he finds a spot and gets to play. Seems like a good guy.

I trust Coach Cig and the tape on Bell looks pretty good. I will say that if you look at all the starting QBs left in the CFP, most were pretty highly rated coming out of high school. Stars don't mean everything but they do typically mean something. Especially at the QB position.

But Coach found Rourke. And pulled Mendoza who is a highly rated transfer. So again, in Cig I trust.
