Purdue recruiting

Sure, I get that. If it were reversed, and a Purdue fan made that same claim, IU fans would jump up and say we have more 4 star recruits and more 3 star recruits than Purdue. Purdue may not even get another commitment, etc, etc. I think Purdue's class is better right now, are the favorite for Bell, and wouldn't be surprised if Grant ends up as a 5 star as well. Like you said, we will see where both classes are in December. I'd put money Purdue's is ranked higher.

All 4 stars, and 3 stars are not created equal. You conveniently left out the fact that these recruiting sites don’t factor in competing offers or the class of football they play in high school or the state for that matter. They don’t get complex with the formula.

As an example:
Purdue has an OL verbal rated as a 5.5 and 3-star with competing offers from 4 MAC schools and an Ivy League.

IU has an OL rated as a 5.5 and 3-star but with 19 offers and 6 of those from P5 schools, all in the ACC.

Now, Rivals will score those two guys identically but the true tale of the tape is told by the level of programs extending an offer.

Purdue also has four 2-star guys.
IU has one guy at 2-star and he is slotted into a position group he really is not really going to play in college.

So, you can look at it strictly as stars, that’s fine, but to ignore what happens when other major universities are extending offers doesn’t tell the whole story.

Frankly, get the kids from Florida and southern states with multiple P5 offers and there is something to really hang your hat on.

Thank you, you made my point in my first post. Stats can be looked at qualitatively or quantitatively. People manipulate stats all the time to make their point, manipulating them using one of the two methods to fit their purpose.

To your point of P5 schools that offer, I totally agree - I wish that were factored in to a ranking somewhere. Look at the P5 offers of the four star players on each team. I'd definitely go with Purdue's guys in that case.

The post was started here by an IU fan.
sounds like a bunch of little kids arguing over who has the coolest looking bike! these posts always start out good then get sideways quickly because of the nonsense like this!

Sounds insecure. There are plenty of other threads here that you can respond to. If it offends you that an IU poster started a Purdue thread and Purdue fans respond, then stop reading the thread. It just makes you look bad when you try to put people down for it, but if that's what makes you feel good about yourself, by all means. It is a free board.

As far as I can tell it has attracted flies, but not much evidence of anything else.
Threads like these always turn into pissing contests no matter how sincere the OP and some in the thread try to make it. All it takes is one person to light the match and then it's a dumpster fire.

Both IU and Purdue are excited about their classes and their futures. That's not a bad thing at all. As to who's class is better in June....who freaking cares! Both schools have addressed needs so far and I'm sure will continue to.
