Refs doing everything they can to gift this game to Purdue.
Ridiculous. And you know somewhere out there there’s a Purdue fan bitching about officiating…against them.
Texas with some really stupid fouls in the 2nd half. Reminds me of X and Geronimo fouling.

Yes, Texas certainly was not counting on fouling Purdue and relaying on Purdue missing FT’s. No coach would use that strategy 😇
Actually on both boards as we have discussed in the past. It’s really not a huge game other than it is a tournament game.
It’s funny that Purdue fans actually think that was their strategy. Even if Purdue shot 50%, that’s still 1 ppp. No one would ever implement that strategy for an entire game. They got hosed.

Foul disparity was a little, one-sided... but Texas fouled the crap out of Purdue. Some missed calls both ways but Texas dared the refs to call fouls with their extremely physical defense and they did.

You can call names if you like but even the announcers did not perceive a bunch of undeserved foul calls. As was pointed out by an IU fan, Texas dared the refs to call a bunch on their defense and the refs decided to do so.
iU fans watching Purdue grind out a win against a team that would have given them huge fits in the past is rich. Styles of play make a huge difference in free throw disparities.

Honestly PU could win it all as sad as it is to say. They're bracket is a joke and they're are no elite teams this season. I thought AZ and Zaga were the 2 best teams and both nearly just lost.
They certainly have the horses and the region bracket has set up nicely for them. Nobody get to the FF without a break here or there and they certainly have that in spades, so take care of business and get there.

The good news, is that if they do make the final four, that will kill that narrative here. There are a few posters that have been willing to die on that hill, derailing threads into post after post of back and forth nonsense. Maybe that would stop those IU fans from ending up in those endless posts?
Hell, I remember PUke playing in the Final Four in 1980. It held in Indy's Market Sq Arena of all places. Fortunately, they lost to UCLA. I was hanging out downtown before the games and ran into Dave Letterman and reminded him of our church daze. Our family used to go to the same church as the Letterman's when I was young, Carrollton Ave Evangelical and Reformed Church.
I went to that Final 4...Louisville, Puke, Iowa and UCLA.
Puke and Iowa lost and the crowd was chanting F*CK THE BIG 10 in the arena

I don't think they will win it all but they could make the final four. Still glad Wisconsin went down and especially in front of their home crowd.
