Pete Hegseth Secretary of Defense

Any other SecDef would have resigned, and any other President would have fired him if he didn't. There is the fact that probably no other SecDef would have shared classified strike mission details in an unauthorized forum.
Didn’t Hegseth also bring his wife, a Fox tv producer, to sensitive meetings with foreign military officials? WTF is wrong with this guy?

How in the hell do you appoint someone to run the defense department who only attained the rank of major?
I don't know how the Marines operate, but in the Army the rank of major is damn near automatic provided you don't completely **** up.

Yes. And she was included in this newly reported chat group that discussed classified military information.

Austin sure a fvck wouldn't resign. Hell, he was unconscious, going through an operation, and no one knew it.

Not to mention the Afghanistan debacle.

Don't even try that shit.

You are a very poor Mr. Whatabout. Extremely poor.

Sometimes it is hard to believe you were ever in the military.

lmao Who wrote this? "Any other SecDef would have resigned"

I just gave you an example of someone who didn't resign even when he was comatose and clearly incompetent. There's not 'whatabout' about it.

Unfortunately, it's not difficult to believe you were an officer.

By the way, I just got my new license plate today. Personalized it - it's my full MOS.

I'll be interested to see if anyone knows what it is.

You are a bad faith poster.

I did not know that!

How do you determined your job classification?
Enlisted have ratings, such as YN for Yeoman, QM for Quarter Master (not at all like an Army Quarter Master), OS for Operations Specialist, etc. An E6 who is a YN would be a YN1. If a person with a rating has a further specialty, that would be an NEC, Navy Enlisted Classification, for things such as being an Air Traffic Controller or Navy Rescue Swimmer.

Officers have designators. For example, I was an Unrestricted Line officer in the Surface Warfare Community, so I was an 1110. Then we have qualifications. For example, Surface Warfare Officer being the main one to actually be an 1110, but I was also Engineering qualified, Tactical Action Officer, Combat Information Watch Officer, Command qualified and several others.

Had no idea. Like what would radar specialists be? It sounds like ratings can cover a wide range of jobs?

Operations Specialists operate the radar, but Electronic Technicians maintain and repair them.
But aren't there other Operations Specialists that aren't radar operators? Seems to me you still have job classifications, which is all an MOS is.

The Navy guys at DLI were all free spirits. All had beards, which we were jealous of. One, George, used to play his guitar in the stairwell - the acoustics were great.

Never really gave the Navy any consideration. Being on a ship with thousands of other men (no women allowed at that time) didn't appeal to me.

Pretty much a basic skill for OSs to operate radars. Many others also use them, including officers like me using radar to navigate or to track and avoid traffic. We have a system called Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) we use for Sailors and officers to qualify for various watches as well as warfare qualification. There is a different warfare qualification for officers and enlisted.

Ah, OK. I'm heading up there this weekend for Mother's Day. Hope it warms up by then.

Hell, I've seen it snow on the first day of 500 qualifications before.
I have too. It’s certainly not the Mooring’s

I love how they only quote one officer by name and all the others are unnamed officers.

My friend's son at Ft Bragg says morale is much higher now than it was under Biden.

But empirical evidence means little. Enlistments are up and that's much more of a determining factor.
