Pete Hegseth Secretary of Defense

He wants to end them now that competitors in the market are the ones getting them. It’s just pulling up the rope.
There's a difference between a non-existant market and a growing one.

Musk took a big risk by starting an entire EV industry, which was virtually non-existant at the time. It's a more mature market now, and increasing

Why shouldn't he be able to profit from being the first in and doing what many said was impossible at the time? The government is the one pushing for EVs - there's nothing shady about taking subsidies when the goverhment wants someone to develop a market from scratch.

Unless you feel sorry for GM and Ford and Chrysler (whatever name it is this week) and think they need subsidies?

Hegseth is mostly unqualified. But he seems smart and seems to have common sense, unlike those Biden put in many of his admin spots. So we're not worse off. Huge jump for Hegseth, IF he gets confirmed I hope he can do it.
Does a cabinet member need 60 votes for approval?

No I don’t think soros is. I think Musk with his present activism is very much the other side of the same coin. I hate soros and like Musk but that’s just my bent. They both represent a significant problem
The problem is government is too big, not Soros or Musk.

It is too big. But there are many problems. Soros shouldn’t be able to influence a DA race 2,000 miles from his home and do grave damage to that community. Musk shouldn’t be able to buy twitter and control a narrative in the absence of a fairness doctrine. Rfk Jr shouldn’t be censored there prior.

I’m generalizing but we’ve got some big issues facing us

Ford is losing between $40,000 and $55,000 per EV.

They need more than subsidies. They need prayers . . .

I have no problem with selecting him, a president has the right to choose whomever they want IMHO. Of course they will be judged by how that person performs. And (AND NOT THIS CASE) they would be judged if they appointed a racist/communist/fascist/lunatic).

I wonder about his idea women can't serve in combat roles, they seem to do it very successfully for Israel. I haven't heard of issues coming out of them in combat in Gaza, but admittedly Israel isn't the most forthcoming nation on military matters.

There are rumors Trump wants recess appointments. If that happens, it won't matter.

It doesn't matter. It just ends up either shuffling the deck of who controls the capital/influence or how the bread gets buttered.
Matters to me. CU gave undue influence to the rich and corporation.
Your/my $1,000 contribution don't mean shit anymore.
Little guy ain't shit to either party except on election day.

Hate to break it to you, but the little guy (us) never had influence or say besides election day and we never will.

I like Hegseth. But he isn't experienced enough.

But I don't put him anywhere in the same zip code as Gaetz for bad.

Hegseth likely has character and nothing disqualifying other than experience. Dems certainly put unqualified people in high positions. And they were running the country into the ground.

Wish Trump had found a heavyweight, but maybe Hegseth will learn fast.

A buddy who was in the army and watches a lot of Fox and OAN just told me Hegseth has a sexual assault allegation (dismissed), a few ugly divorces, and a tattoo on his arm that is a white supremacy symbol?

Fun confirmation hearings coming.

He divorced wife 2 when he had a child during an extramarital affair with the future wife 3. That seems to run counter to the teachings in the Bible. Maybe he is less about the Christian, and more about the Nationalism.

Adultery is a crime under the UCMJ in the military. Now I’ve never seen it as an only charge, but I have seen it as an additional charge with fraternization and conduct unbecoming.

It's hard on marriages when you're deployed often and PTSD has a great effect.

The tattoo on his chest is a cross.

This guy is military all the way and a war fighter. He may have some marriage issues - how does that make him different from you and me and 90% of the marriages in the US.

He's no white supremicist - that's just another lie spread by the left and the media.

If all sinners and hypocrites are disqualified from holding public office, we won't be able to staff a government.

I don't think he's different. But that dirty laundry is going to get aired, you can be sure.

The tat is more than just the cross, I guess. From WSJ:

The email, dated Jan. 14 and sent from a former Washington, D.C., Guard member, included an attachment showing a shirtless Hegseth with a tattoo on his bicep inscribed, “Deus Vult.” A quick google search told Gaither the Latin phrase means “God wills it,” which served as a battle cry for Christians during the Crusades and has become associated with white extremist groups, he told The Wall Street Journal. The pictures also showed that Hegseth has a large Jerusalem cross tattoo. Gaither said he was not concerned about the cross—it was the “Deus Vult” that worried him.

My wife was appalled, outraged with disgust and, per normal female, very vocal and felt it her job to let me know all about it, just yesterday. She noticed that I was putting urine on a leaf pile that I am composting.
If you are not a compost'er or understand science, google it.
If you have never been around women, google "why does she make shit so hard"

I care just as much about her tirade as I do about Deus Vult. And they both come from the same mindset that anyone else actually GAFF about their opinions.

Extramarital affair would run counter
The distinction I’m making is between us sinning (we all do everyday) and a person who professes teachings that go against Christianity. Bulky was drawing a conclusion that he is more of a Nationalist than a Christian because of his sins. I disagree. Now, if Pete is saying it’s ok to cheat on your wife, that would run counter to the teachings of Christ and I would agree with Bulky.

Jerusalem cross tattoo
This to me is the biggest issue with a handful of national security picks to date. Neocons who maybe representing foreign interests and should be registered as foreign agents. The group's acronym is 5 letters long. It's an issue that plagued Blinken and Kushner. A nation supposedly facing an all out war subsidized by the USA while 25% of the state refuses to fight and reads books. One of the only Trump positions I support is eliminating birthright citizenship and along the same vain no member of Congress should be a dual citizen unless their prior country prevents them from relinquishing citizenship. If it's truly America first other nations interests should not be a consideration.

Oh yeah, the inquisitors get real moral on this stuff.

So that proves he's a white supremicist?
