Who guy on the radio said gets 10-15 snaps a game has entered the portal. crazy times supposedly a kid who grew up near campus and dreamed of playing at Penn St
Coincides with Allar announcing he is coming back for his senior season.Who guy on the radio said gets 10-15 snaps a game has entered the portal. crazy times supposedly a kid who grew up near campus and dreamed of playing at Penn St
Well, did you know anybody who left school during semester break because of bad grades, financial hardship or realized they couldn’t get into their school of study be you stiff competition? How about in the workforce where an employee comes in and one day says I’m quitting at coke and going to work at Pepsi? Think they wanna keep that person around for 2 weeks? He's a good prospect. But was only a three star when he signed with them, high three star though, from a fast look.
Earned some PT though must have something. He wants a better chance to play next year other than 'work hard and beat out the incumbent'.
The way they made the portal dates, he has to get going. $ucks for them to not have him in the playoffs. But he's a pro, he'$ going look for better opportunitie$
Seems like they should not allow mid-year enrollees. Enroll for summer sessions. That way players can finish their year at their current school. And the the portal opening can be after the bowl season. Sorry if that inconveniences coaches who want their whole team in spring practice. But seems like a ridiculous time for the portal, and I usually hear it's so players can enroll for the next semester.

Interesting read. I did not know that 25% of players went into the portal last year. Had not really thought about the number, but it is higher than I expected.John Mateer (Washington State) officially entered the transfer portal today. He’s now the highest 247 Portal QB in the portal itself.
What? I think that's pretty much the same as what I said, when the portal opens sucks.Well, did you know anybody who left school during semester break because of bad grades, financial hardship or realized they couldn’t get into their school of study be you stiff competition? The only reason to keep this kid is for a backup to Allar and after that (mid Jan?) who’s gonna work with the kid? Show him the new playbook, let him work in some reps? It’s the timing of when the portal opens that sucks
Sry, thought the slant was not allowing transfers mid yr period. Using real life examples to show parallels but do suppose some might pull a McCaully and quit to save a red shirt yr but that’s an outlierWhat? I think that's pretty much the same as what I said, when the portal opens sucks.
They wouldn't be keeping anybody around if the portal opened after the season. The kids would be on the team. And the portal wouldn't need to be open so early, which I'm told is to get them in right away next semester. Sure, they couldn't work with the new school till summer, but it would be the same for every team. If they want to transfer for grades or field of study they still can. Just won't have much to do with the profession of college football. But once the portal opens they could do that too.
Well, it's true I don't know how they could handle those details of transferring for non-football reasons. But if the football portal opened next semester and so they only needed to enroll in another school by summer or fall (Like most freshman) at least it might end this current silliness. Thanks for the thoughts.Sry, thought the slant was not allowing transfers mid yr period.
