They produced Coach Hep and CKW.

Im still baffled we booted CKW but I digress.

Lynch was a disaster, and Allen is clearly a rah rah guy with little substance if not surrounded by great assistant coaches.

If we keep Allen another year we risk becoming the doormat again for 10 years. (We appear to be there already) I’m confident we can attract a really good coach. We have the resources if we’ll use them.

I had great expectations for Hep, but let’s not act like he was priming the team to contend for nattys. It’s a small sample size. Marked improvement but we never got to see him really play out.

Indiana was a trash fire when Cam left and we never gave DiNardo a shot. Hep was 7 years away from showing his potential. But we were on the track.

Who comes up with these football contracts? Fire him instead.
That would be Surfboard 2.0, Scott Dolson. Another in a long line of ADs at IU who are content doing things the IU way because it’s all they know. They have never been an AD anywhere prior to IU. Clancy Donniger was another. He was Bobby’s attorney. No doubt these guys have passion for the school but have no business finding coaches or structuring a contract.

Wilson never won more than 6 games and recruit was in a downward spiral. He destroyed the roster his first year then built the offense up with QBs brought in by other coaches. He couldn't get defense right and had all kinds of goofs in game management, but people forget that, making him some kind of demigod of IUFB. I am not including his off the field issues that got him fired.

By the way, no HC is any good without top assistant coaches, so that argument holds no water, I get it you and others don't like enthusiastic coaches. My concerns have to do with the B1G improving and coach Allen's/IU's AD ability to bring in top coordinators to match what the other B1G teams are doing. There are other B1G teams in turmoil right now as Nebraska and Wisconsin don't have their new HCs named yet, NW is in the doldrums, and MSU has come back to earth.
