Could IU pull Otzelberger away from Iowa State? I live in Iowa and a lot of local chatter here about TJ leaving.

Midwest guy, won at the D1 level, actually seems like a good dude who would be a good representative for our university (unlike a couple others candidates on peoples list)… He checks a lot of boxes.

I live in Ames and have season tickets. I have heard nothing about TJ leaving. Where do you live? As someone else mentioned, his wife is a bball alum and I don’t see him leaving ISU. Wish he was an option for IU, but not very likely.

Be a great hire but he isn’t leaving home

Live in Bettendorf and work with a large group of Cyclones. Maybe they’re just worried more than anything. He’s a great coach.

I don't know his coaching well but I'm not completely convinced on him. Ohio State has had numerous coaches do well a couple years then peter out.

That could be a sign he's willing to move or it could be a sign that the days of ridiculous buyouts, no matter who they benefit (coach or school) are on the way out. I know if I'm an AD I'm not signing any contract that prohibits me financially from removing a coach that's not performing.

And if I’m a coach, I’m not agreeing to a deal that ties me to a place whether I have any intention of leaving or not. I think TJ negotiated that down to have options-such as IU.
