OT: What a screw job

One thing that made me laugh about the long replay delay (checking to see if the UCF shot hit the rim) was that none of the announcers noticed that both Duke players are fouling Tacko.

Noticing a trend here! All sec/acc teams are getting every single call in the final minutes of these games! See UNC/UK games!

UCF got screwed. Period. Zion with the forearm push off.
The push off at the rebound
and the no call at the last layup that was called all game long.
What a screw job

I don’t know. I think UCF made some costly mistakes down the stretch. I don’t put that one on officiating.

Remember the Dookies are an NCAA cash cow. What did you expect from the officials? Have to agree that the botched ally oop instead of milking the clock set the stage for the Dookies to get off of the hook.

UCF...something smells awful fishy and I mean bad. How do you go from nothing...zero...nada...zilch in football and basketball and all the sudden your in the national spotlight in both sports? (See baylor) something aint right. Jus sayin

First off... I really really wanted UCF to win..... but looking at the Officiating... there were bad calls both ways at the the end of the game.
I believe the Rim call was a bad call... cause the ball didn't change directions. So there was one for UCF.
I believe that ZW charged on his drive to the basket, that ultimately got the 5th foul call on the Big Guy. One for Duke.
Then... on ZW's free throw... Barrett pushed off on the rebound to get the shot that he did. Two for Duke.
Then.... I feel the UCF guy was fouled on his final drive to the basket. Three for Duke.

But ultimately.... like it's been mentioned... the Alley Oop was a big mistake by UFC.... and the last second tip in didn't go. So UCF had their chances.

But darn..... I sure do wish that UCF would have won.

Yeah, Zion pushed off, but the refs wouldn't call one on him.

But UFC blew the game, bad strategy. Let them make a two, then burn down the final seconds of the game.

Would have liked to see Iowa win their game. 25 point comeback. Too bad.

I thought that was a good no call on the last drive, shooter shouldered into the defender who was nearly vertical...The lack of charge calls and forearm pushes on rebounds def favored Duke.

On the last drive.... the shooter should have thrown on his breaks and let the Duke guy run into him... Like the UCF guy (didn't remember his name... I think Taylor) did with Zion Williamson earlier to get a foul called on him.

But then again.... it's the last play of the game.... and you know how the Refs swallow whistles in the closing seconds of games.

Surprise, surprise it was Duke after all.

How about having an athletic department that cares about winning...

Hmmm. Yea that AAC contract has money pouring in. And maybe your right. F*ck the degree but lets kill it in sports. SMU, Baylor (pre Big 12 pulling political sh*t) Louisville, all these small schools have made it in a corrupt fashion. Hell you would think the Clintons are behind UCF.

It appeared to me that the fifth foul call on the big guy was correct, he was inside the circle. Also, UCF failed to block out on the miss. I don't think it was as blatant as the KY game.

Clearly a shove in the back by Barrett. Also, that's an offensive foul 90% of the time on Williamson. UCF out played Duke.

Are u serious noway baby... As my friend Robert Montgomery Knight said defense wins championships and man the officials really helped my Dukies the last minute..

You’re suggesting that the refs’ calls/non-calls were intentional in order to have Duke win. That would be criminal. At least if they did it because the NCAA told them to do it to save their “cash cow.” Maybe they are criminals, or maybe they’re humans and make mistakes. Either way, they definitely helped Duke win.

3 call's for Duke 1 for ucf

They didn't call that earlier foul on Fall when he absolutely mauled Zion on his drive. I agree Duke got more calls, but that's always going to happen with the higher rated team. UCF played a great game, especially Dawkins... wow, but you've got to overcome the foul disparity you know is coming, and they had their chances on that alleyoop and the last chance put back. As good as Duke looks individually, they are vulnerable.

Not vulnerable now. Duke should win now. UCF with Taco was the one team that caused severe match-up problems along with a former Duke Assistant Coach who knows Coach K's system. And a coach's son playing above his head with the passion of playing for his dad. Taco mauled Zion on an earlier play and should have fouled out minutes earlier. The calls evened out. Stupid teams make stupid plays, such as the low % alley oop turnover by UCF when they were up 4 points. While winning teams make winning plays which is what Zion and Barrett did.

You may want to check Duke's results versus UNC this year. They have an amazing collection of talent, but I think they are vulnerable with so many freshmen. Several teams (UK, UNC, FSU, TENN, Gonzaga, and UVA among them) all have the talent to beat them if they aren't careful and don't raise their game.

If Zion is healthy, Duke should win.

Taco mauled Zion and should have fouled out several minutes earlier.
