Basketball income can be whatever the athletic department accountants choose it to be. Look inside the numbers. Do you really think ANY of those basketball programs are really spending such miniscule amounts on basketball expenses. Marquette maybe the only one close to reality and that is questionable. The licensing and rights income is where the BTN and bowl income shows up. The school decides how much of that income is football related or basketball related. A true accounting would include the costs of operating and staffing a basketball facility and any construction or renovation costs associated with the building including maintenance and upkeep. When everyone knows a head coach makes $2.5 to $5 million alone who can believe the total expenses are less the $3 million. Assistant coaches, trainers, equipment
Wrsknnrl, video and scouting and administrative assistants, etc. Nobody, except perhaps the basketball only schools, is likely to be accounting for scholarship costs in those numbers. Recruiting budgets are not cheap.
