So...assuming he's close in his evals...the winner of tomorrow's game probably punches an NCAA tournament at large ticket.

Doesn't mean the loser is out, especially if IU wins. But probably means the loser does need to win another game or two in the BTT, to be safely in.

Further... Senior Day speeches... odds that we get a "chill" comment or two? What will Woodson's speech be like? So much stuff going on!

Maybe the players wont but I would not put anything past woodson unless he has signed an NDA that does not allow him to say anything negative. I assume he is very bitter given he was asking about a 5th year and did not get it.

100% tournament game for us, blow this one at home we would have to at a minimum get to the semis in the BIG and possibly the championship game, which isn't going to happen. win Tomm I don't think the 8/9 game vs Oregon even matters.

Any time I read that stuff and start having any sympathy for the guy (which isn't hard, I do like him as a former player) I remind myself of how much money he's been paid and how little has been achieved. He won't be hurting for anything.

Elkhart Sectional... Northridge is our school. Finals should be us and Warsaw...toss up game. But its March, anything can happen! They both have to win tonight to get there. There isn't much I like more than Semi Final night at a good Sectional venue.

Nobody thinks it is a great accomplishment. But you are referencing 30+ years ago. That culture and identity is dead. People want to be excited about IU basketball, that's what fans do.

I miss being a kid without any responsibilities...but I'm 30+ years removed from that... that's how long its been since making the NCAA tournament wasn't worth at least a little celebration, as an IU fan. Sucks. But it is what it is.

Does he honestly strike you as a person who would "go rogue?" He's quite soft-spoken IMO. I think he will talk about the honor it was to coach the team, he might address not achieving some of their goals or might not, but what would be the point in some kind of bitter diatribe? Just as sad as some saying they could warm up to a Bronwell or a mid major hire. After the last two horrible hires if we don't get someone proven and someone who can win right away I am just not sure the program will ever be able to be salvaged. This really is a make or break hire at this point. You simply cannot make another bad hire and expect to keep fans going forward anymore.

I agree, not much better than semi final sectional nights. I too will be at a sectional game(s), to watch Washington against Southridge and Gibson Southern against my Princeton Tigers. Good luck to your Northridge team.

Not only that but if rumors were true he was not happy in the least about not being promised a 5th year. Rumor was he was going to quit on the spot. My guess is he is very bitter and bitter people often speak their minds. I am sure he would like to tell us all how crazy we are in our expectations and he did his job blah blah blah.

But there is probably language in his seperation agreement that will cost him money if he goes rogue. But once he is gone I am guessing he will go full blown rogue on the fans.

Nah... seeing Indiana's name on selection Sunday again is what I want. And then the anticipation waiting for their first NCAA tournament game. It makes filling out brackets more fun. It makes watching and listening to pundits talk about the tournament more interesting. In short, it makes one of the more incredible sports experiences, even better.

No matter the attached implications, I'd always prefer IU make the tournament over not. And since we know we're headed for a new coach very soon after the season is over, whether thats after an NCAA tournament run, or after a BTT game loss... I choose NCAA tournament run.
