They started this game a few minutes earlier than what I expected. OSU got a 2-run homer in the 1st with RHP Ben Grable on the mound, and IU scored a run after Wiggins reached on an error and eventially scored.

T2nd:

Grable got the first two batters, but then ran into two-out trouble. He gave up a single and the runner stole 2nd. A double scored a run and then a single put runners on the corners. Another single scored a second run after two outs before the final out.

B2nd:

Cerny flied out to lead off. Malamazian reached on another error by the OSU SS. Moore was hit by a pitch to put runners on 1st and 2nd and one out.

Wiggins Kd swinging for the 2nd out.

Taylor singled to score Malamazian with runners on 1st and 2nd and two outs. Dickerson flied out to end the inning.

End of 2nd: OSU 4 IU 2

T3rd:

Grable was back out there and he faced the 5 thru 7 hitters and Grable seemed to settle down and he put them down in order to include to Ks.

B3rd:

It was the 4 thru 6 hitters up with Stadler, the DH, leading off and he flied out. The OSU pitcher has an ERA of over 10.00 yet he has given up just one hit so far as OSU's two errors have been our best offense so far.

Hanley walked on a full count with one out. Schuyler grounded out with Hanley moving to 2nd and two outs.

Cerny grounded out to end the inning.

End of 3rd: OSU 4 IU 2

Grable faced the 8 thru 1 hitters and he got the leadoff hitter on a flyout for the first out. He then walked a batter on a full count to put a runner on and one out.

A double made it 5-2 with one out and a runner at 2B. Grable then got a flyout for the 2nd out with the runner holding at 2nd. The runner on 2nd was out at the plate after a single and the Bucks challenged the call, but the call was upheld to retire the side. Don't expect Grable to be out there next inning.

B4th:

It was the 8 thru 1 hitters up with Malamazian leading off. IU hitters have struggled against the OSU starter who entered the game with an elevated ERA of over 10.00.

Malamazian Kd to lead off. Moore grounded out for the 2nd out with the top of the order up in Wiggins. Wiggins Kd and IU went down in order.

This is kinda of scary, at least to me, as they brought in LHP Ryan Kraft to face the 4 thru 6 hitters. Kraft has struggled mightily out of the bullpen this season.

Kraft got the leadoff hitter on a K. Kraft then gave up a triple with one out. Kraft has given up two homers and two triples on the season out of the pen.

Kraft got a huge 2nd out with a grounder to 3B which kept the runner at 3rd. Hopefully, he can get that third out.

Didn't happen. Kraft gave up a run-scoring single to make it 6-2 OSU. A K retired the side.

B5th:

It's the 2 thru 4 hitters up with Taylor leading off. IU should be hitting this pitcher well given his elevated ERA but I guess the pitcher thinks he is Cy Young reincarnated. We still have just one hit - a single.

Taylor grounded out and Dickerson Kd. Stadler singled to put a runner on and two outs. Hanley grounded out to end the inning.

End of 5th: OSU 6 IU 2

Kraft was back out there to face the 9 thru 2 hitters. IU is still close enough to pull this out but we have to get outs and wake up at the plate. Kraft put them down in order to include two Ks.

B6th:

It was the 6 thru 8 hitters up with Cerny leading off and he lined out. The Bucks pulled their starter and brought in RHP Nik Copenhaver with an ERA of 2.12 in 12.2, OSU's best pitcher stat-wise.

Schuyler then singled to put a man on. Malamazian walked on four pitches to put two on and no outs.

Brenczewski came in to pinch hit for Moore. Brenczewski was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out.

That was it for the OSU's best bullpen pitcher as they went to the bullpen again, and they brought in a lefty with an ERA of 11.57.

Wiggins reached on a FC with Schuyler scoring and two outs with the bases still loaded.

Dickerson reached on a FC with the out at 2nd to end the inning. IU had the bases loaded and one out but managed to score just one run.

End of 6th: OSU 6 IU 3

Kraft was back out there to face the 3 thru 5 hitters. Kraft gave up a homer that was absolutely crushed, but retired the other batters in the inning. We keep letting OSU match our runs to keep us at arms length and we have just three hits on the game so far.

B7th:

Stadler flied out and Hanley singled. Schuyler hit into a DP to end the inning.

End of 7th: OSU 7 IU 3

RHP Trey Telfer replaced Kraft and he faced the bottom of the order and he walked the leadoff batter on a full count. A flyout got the first out. A groundout moved the runner to 2nd with two outs.

A full count walk put runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs. A K retired the side.

B8th:

It was the bottom of the order up with Cerny leading off.

IU finally showed some life at the plate after Cerny was hit by a pitch with Malamazian hitting a two-run homer to make it 7-5 with no outs. Denny came in to pinch hit for the struggling Oliver and he doubled with no outs.

Wiggins tripled with no outs and IU is on the verge of tying the game or taking the lead.

Taylor grounded out with Wiggins scoring to tie the game at 7-7 and one out.

Dickerson and Stadler both grounded out to end the productive inning.

End of 8th: IU 7 OSU 7

RHP Cole Gilley replaced Telfer and he got the first two batter on a groundout and flyout and then got a K to put them down in order.

B9th:

It was the 5 thru 7 hitters up with Game 1 hero Hanley leading off. IU went down in order and we go to extra innings.

End of 9th: IU 7 OSU 7

T10th:

Gilley was back out there to face the 6 thru 8 hitters and he got the leadoff hitter on a lineout and then got a K for two outs, but the batter reached 1at on a passed ball. Gilley then got another K for the 2nd out. A flyout retired the side in another excellent inning by Gilley.

B10th:

It's the 8 thru 1 hitters up and Malamazian leading off. Malamazian doubled to leadoff. I don't know how good a bunter Denny is but you would think he would try to bunt Malamazian over the third.

Denny hit a walk off single to win the game as IU takes the DH.

Final: IU 8 OSU IU 7

Things looked dire for a long time as IU hitters had trouble hitting a starter with an ERA of over 10.00, but a late rally allowed them to pull this one out. IU got their heads above the .500 mark overall for the first time, and also in the B1G at 3-2.

OSU outhit IU 11-9 and kept IU at arms-length for much of the game by matching runs every time IU cut into the OSU lead.

IU had just two multi-hit players in the game.

Malamazian - 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and with a double and a homer.

Denny - 2 for 2 with 1 RBI being the game winner, and he had a double.

Wiggins had a huge triple late in the game and scored and he had 2 RBIs.

Taylor had a hit and two RBIs.

The early to middle inning pitching wasn't very good, but the late pitching by Telfer and Gilley allowed IU to stay close enough to win it. Gilley was going to be the Sunday pitcher, but he probably pitched long enough to burn that start, so I don't know who will be on the mound on Sunday as IU tries to sweep the series.

Grable - 4.0 IP, 8 hits with a double and homer, 5 earned runs, 6 Ks and 2 BBs.

Kraft - 3.0 IP, 3 hits to include a triple and homer, 2 earned runs, 4 Ks and no BBs.

Telfer - 1.0 IP, no hits or earned runs, 1 K and 2 BBs.

Gilley - 2.0 IP, no hits or earned runs, and 3 Ks with no BBs.

It was another outstanding defensive game for IU who had no errors to go along with no errors in Game 1. OSU had two errors on the game.
