Ole Miss

Georgia dropped from 3rd to out with a much more competitive loss at Ole Miss. My worry is we’re gonna similarly drop like a rock, and the Purdue game will not help us in anyway. A loss at OSU in and of itself is not any cause for concern. How we looked, now combined with how we looked against Michigan…with regards to our CFP outlook…is a huge cause for concern.
The offense has really fallen apart the last two games. But Michigan and OSU have a lot of talent on defense.

Offensively, we ran the ball fairly easily today on them. Our quick passes over the middle were effective too. We couldn’t run anything that required any time though. Play action, normal drop backs, screens, even throws out the the flat…couldn’t do any of it. That’s gonna be a problem if we can’t address it.

Their only loss is at The Shoe to probably the best team in the country.

These other teams are eating each other as well.

You don't believe?
SEC will get 4 in
B10 has 3 other locks
B12 gets 1
Group of 5 gets 1
ND is another 1
ACC champ is 1

IU is now in a dog fight with a 2nd ACC school, and/or 5th SEC school.

Texas A&M and Ol miss loss will stop the 5th SEC team.

I get all the assumptions that Ole Miss is out with their 3rd loss. But I would all but gaurantee with how we looked today, that there will be A LOT of discussions and comparisons between IU and certain 3 loss SEC teams, let alone 2 loss.

Lots of football left. Need to drill Purdue or it’ll be dicey, and I wouldn’t be surprised, at all, if a 3 loss team like Ole Miss got in over us.

Today was a bad, bad look.
Why is every 2 loss in the SEC automatically better than every 1 loss team in the country?
Because they have continually built this narrative that it is the nation’s toughest conference every year. Their 2 loss teams only lost because they were “trap games” or that their last place teams would beat the top teams in the conference. Just all made up nonsense.

Idk. Getting in for the sake of saying we got in feels a lot like a participation trophy. After today i am not sure I want in. If we do slip in it is highly likely to be as a bottom seed. So, playing potentially our last game on the road just feels like a bummer way to end the season. That’s my initial reaction though. Maybe I will change my mind.
Wouldn't we still play in a bowl game if we lose the first playoff game?

It is a concern.

Our easy schedule was not say, Colorado's, which is somehow ranked 12th to our 70ish.
Colorado lost 28-10 to Nebraska. We'd be 11-0 if we played their schedule. Yet their weak conference is rated way higher than us playing last years title teams, Michigan, Washington. And the Nebraska team that whipped them?

Could say the same about many big least and acc teams. Boise too, but they didn't lose badly to Oregon. Plus they are a 'name' lol.
Well, we've beaten at least 2 bowl eligible teams. Washington got their 6th win last week and Nebraska got theirs today.

And Day will find a way to blow it.
please, please be true

Why is 1 loss Notre Dame a lock with a SOS only slightly better than ours... And a loss at home to Northern Illinois?
