OK lefties . . .

Wouldn't that same logic hold true for the right wing boycotts of:

Apple: Donald Trump called for a nationwide boycott of Apple unless the company purposely weaken its phone encryption. Later, Conservatives called for a boycott because Apple wouldn't allow Parler on their App Store

Amazon: Because the Washington Post published articles which were critical of Donald Trump, and the Post is owned by Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos, Trump called for a boycott of Bezos's primary company, Amazon

AT & T: Donald Trump called for a boycott of the communications company in hopes that it would encourage AT&T to cancel CNN.

Bank of America After the company turned over account records for people involved in the January 6th Capitol insurrection, various Conservatives called for a boycott

Banks in general: Republicans in multiple states created bills that would force their state governments to end all business with any bank which mentioned climate change.

Barbie: Conservatives called for a boycott of the 2023 Barbie movie. Some even burned Barbie toys.

Bud Light: When the company announced a partnership with a transgender person and temporarily added rainbows to their can design, Republicans called for their followers to never drink the beer again. Conservatives even bought cases of the beer just so they could shoot them

Budweiser: After the company released an ad briefly showing the hate the company's immigrant founder received when he arrived in the USA, Republicans called for a boycott

Cisco: The company was one of many who spoke out against Georgia's racist anti-voter laws, and one that Republicans boycotted.

Coca-Cola: After Coke spoke out against Georgia's racist anti-voter laws, Conservatives called for the company's boycott. Trump also called for a boycott, but kept drinking Coke. Republicans also called for a boycott of the company because they prevented a law that would allow for religious discrimination in Georgia

There are other examples.

Arson, destruction of property, etc should never be allowed and should be punished. But there is awful lot of moral relativism lingering around
You missed their boycott of Disney.

Yes, arson, property destruction, etc should be punished regardless of political motivations.

I am not from the Fort, just pastor here. I will not put this place down. They have a Giordano's,Portillos, and Skyline chili. They have minor league baseball too, and a good zoo.
Any place with Skyline Chili is good by me. I wish I could eat Portillos-unfortunately, it would send me into a diabetic coma

Last time i went to Skyline Chile a half naked woman asked us " have you ever seen Ace Ventura?" Before we could answer she turned around, bent over and started talking out of her butt like the movie..........actually now i am thinking it happened at a place called Poor Johns. I wouldn't eat a hot dog at either place though

All for prosecuting these nuts, but shouldn't this be a local or state matter? If someone vandalized a bunch of Ford pickup trucks, that would be a local matter, right? What makes this a federal case? I'm interested in the legal opinions.

illegally possessing an unregistered destructive device. This was a few weeks ago that they were arrested.

"Domestic terrorism."

It's Elon, the president's biggest donor, so he gets the full support and resources of Trump's DOJ.

Interstate commerce. Magic words

I could have looked at the indictment to see the charges, but didn't notice one was linked in the article. Here it is:

Makes sense now. I suppose the incidents where they're spray painting or shit staining Teslas would be a local matter.

Better if it’s a federal conviction. Then the next Democratic president can pardon them… And the beat goes on.

It's always the chanting, and the singing, and the uncomfortable dumb jokes.

Dorks. Nerds. Social outcasts.

Can't imagine being a shitlib in Southlake, TX 😄

I hope every single one is caught and prosecuted, but I'm one of the few consistent law and order conservatives here that believes those that commit crimes should be prosecuted no matter what the political motivation, if there is political motivation.
I am all for that as long as it's done equally when compared to other crimes

Convinced me! I'm cashing in my IRA and putting it in Tesla!
No way would I do that. I'm not that big of a gambler. It was lower in 2023 than it is now so it might be a good bet.

This equally thing is a red herring deal. A guy commits a crime in Ohio, and another guy commits the same crime (same charge) in Indiana. The resulting sentence is very much unlikely to be identical. All the circumstances won't be identical. The judge, jury, prosecutor and defending attorney won't be identical. So, when one guy gets 10 years and the other 5, some will point to that and scream that justice isn't equal. Of course, it isn't. That's our system of justice.

Screaming that rioters at BLM protests and J6 rioters weren't being treated the same is of course true but entirely irrelevant. Different circumstances, different law enforcement (local, state, or federal), different cops, different judges, different, different, different. I want all rioters to meet justice appropriate to their crimes.

If he actually steals the data and uses it? No, I don't.
I am not sure either Trump would see that as ethically wrong. The parts of the government that look for fraud were the first to go. He seems to have a very laissez faire attitude about how people acquire money. Or at least how he acquires it, maybe it would not extend to Musk. But I think it would. I suspect if push came to shove it would be very hard to prove $500 million to Trump's PAC was a quid pro quo. We had a quid pro quo in the phone call to Ukraine and even hearing it most Republicans said it was ok. Why would this be different?

The Floyd rioters who faced federal charges tended to have much harsher outcomes than local/state. The J6 people screwed up and committed their crime on federal property.

Quite a few of the Floyd protestors were arrested for lower level "violating curfew" charges. No one stops to think of course they didn't get years in federal prison.

Anyone who destroyed property or attacked people in either case deserved prison.

I think you've accepted the anti-Musk narrative pumped out by the Dems without thinking about this too deeply.

Why would what be different? What exact act has Musk taken to benefit himself financially that you have proof of? How is this any different than all the speculation about the Biden quid pro quos from the foreign companies that gave money to Hunter and his brother?

That was "very hard to prove" too. Minus a smoking gun, no Democrat would even admit it was fishy. Does the same standard apply here?

If Musk breaks the law and steals govt data to benefit his business, he should go to jail and disgorge any profits he makes from said theft. I've asked multiple people for evidence of this, and no one has provided any yet. Plus, I'm just not sure why the richest man in the world would risk that. Musk already gets plenty of consumer data from X and Tesla. What consumer data, trends, etc. is he taking from all these files he has access to (like thousands of other govt employees) and how, exactly, is it going to help him?

Apples to oranges. The lion’s share of Floyd rioters would have been subject to state crimes - largely in counties with Soros DAs
