My avatars cousin called and said he wants to get his side of the story out as he's being vilified in the national press...

He said he could have dealt with her acting like she was in a petting zoo and foolishly trying to get a closeup selfie..., but what pushed him over the edge was the fact that she was attempting to kick start an o-h-i-o chant...

He said it's one thing for the idiots to do it inside every restaurant, hotel lobby, and opponents school union nationwide but he wasn't about to stand for it in his domain...

He also wants the public to know that he just gave her a slight nudge with one horn and only tossed her about 10 feet, which, he says..., is only a quarter of his actual launch range...

// Given the transgression, I'd say she got off easy... He gored and trampled a p u guy last year just for wearing a P hat... 😉

/////*[for those of you who might think this is in poor taste because the woman is dead..., well she isn't...; which pretty much sums up the state of journalism today (or lack thereof)... One outlet misreported that she had died and all the other "major legacy" networks (and newspapers) used the original erroneous story as their "source" without even making a phone call to fact check it (sound familiar?)... She is in reality, hospitalized and yes, I have little to no sympathy for her... If you purposefully move within a bodies length of a Bison or pretty much any unrestrained wild animal you have this sort of thing coming to you, in my opinion...].*/////

AND when are we finally going to get the Bison as our mascot? There’s Bevo and Uga. We need Monon I.

That’s way too far outside the box for IU athletics.
“We’ve never had a mascot, so we need to keep things the same as they’ve been the last 50 years.”

We are too “unique” to have a mascot. That’s the reason we’ve been so successful in football all these years..

WTF is this being posted on the IUFB message board for, post this on the water cooler forum, that's where current events go, this has nothing to do with IUFB.

Anyone who's been around this board for any length of time knows that discussions about the bison mascot happen frequently. On top of that, this op was funny and damn clever, and we all could use a bit more of that. Do you need someone to help you locate your lost sense of humor ?

In addition, a post like this on the cesspool that is the WC would immediatley generate a flurry of venomous responses about whether the bison thought the 2020 election was stolen , and whether someone in the crowd should have stopped the bison with an AR-15.

The football board in June is a perfect place for this post, in my humble opinion.

Makes me wonder if our new resident "Karen" has ever actually been to an INDIANA versus O-h-i-o $tate game..., or anywhere within a 50 mile radius on the day of... Anyone who has would get the joke...

Don’t worry about it.

Lol I disagree, if we had a real fanbase(not anyone on here, obviously we all care enough to check the IUFB message board in the middle of summer after a 2-10 season, that takes some real loyalty) there would be plenty to talk about with this team even in June, but I appreciate your respectful honesty.

Unfortunately the OP does not share your same trait of respect and instead chooses to whine about how I didn't get the Bison joke and if I did I would actually appreciate this post. The bison mascot has been dead for a long time and it's not coming back anytime soon, sorry if I didn't find your joke funny and think that this is a pretty pointless thread bud.

And conversely, IU's lack of success is due to the lack of a mascot??

IMO, there is no obvious mascot so ANY mascot would be a forced situation.
Contrary to your attempt at sarcasm, I find it hard to believe that the powers that be made a decision to be unique. I believe they have tried multiple times.
I remember that Johnny Hayseed character which I thought was embarrassing.

Hayseed was pre K intelligence from the start.
But if there is to be a mascot the American Bison is a better choice than most. Building fan support could be as simple as obtaining a calf and fans can watch him grow up over 3-4 years while attending home FB games. Hang state flags around campus and MS so the correlation of a bison mascot and that it roamed the Indiana plains is noted. Owning and raising livestock is not cheap. Possible that hill is to tall to climb. If IUFB would decide to initiate a mascot they need to support it 1000%. No slack effort or attempt.
