Let Morgan play some 4 and 4 on defense. Rutgers is big. Smith needs to come off the bench.

I agree, but the problem gets to be who would play the 5 if Davis is still hobbling. Moore? Fitzner?

Been one of our biggest issues all year.

Morgan has been on an unbelievable grind trying to defend the post. Smith played well defensively for the most part in the Louisville game but has really hurt us defensively too often - such as the Northwestern game when he completely lost Falzon. Neither Cliff or Evan can provide the interior presence this team sorely lacks.

I'd give Moore a shot just to change things up. At this point something has to change.

Can't start Moore. What if we get off to a slow start as a result.

Smith said someyhing disturbing, he said he cant get used to teams not guarding him from the perimeter. Said he has to keep shooting 3s abd shooting, and eventually some may go in
What part of the opponents laughing as Smith takes and misses these wide open, invited shots, by the opponent's D. If he cant make th3 3pt shot, then he needs to post up inside or run the baseline for drives, putbacks, and dunks. Thst's his range 5ft in. NO 3pt shots by Smith, it's fools gold, and has the same effe cd t as a turnover followed by a possible fast break opportunity for the opponent.

What? Like 17-0 and 20-2. Start Moore. The Rutgers big is a freshmen and not fast. Smith off the bench.

I agree. Moore should get a start, perfect time to do it. Change things up. He's shown some hustle, though in mostly limited minutes to be sure, but he's improved so much since last season that he's earned a start. He can play hard, be aggressive, and if he gets a couple of our now-traditional-and-to-be-expected early fouls, Smith can come off the bench. Who knows? Maybe that tall kid just needs a chance . . .

Go with morgan, smith, and moore, with ro and phin up top. Use moore high post as a passer and let morgan screen for smith running baseline, then post opposite.

Moore can hit a short jumper if they go small, and McRoberts or Fitzner subs in for him.

Dont do the weave until Al comes in, and have the bigs set high weakside screens for the guards to cut the lane, where either can take it to the rack or dish.

I'm done with the 3 guard thing until one of them can hit a 3.

If Moore starts he’ll be the new most hated player come tomorrow morning. How can anyone think he helps us more than Smith? Baffling stuff

Rutgers rotates 4 guys between the 4 and 5. Myles Johnson is a 6'11 freshman while the others are two juniors and one senior.

Wouldn't be anything new.

I'll try to use more remedial smilies next time, so you two aren't forced to engage your outrage boners.

Less turnovers, can hit FT, won't take open 3s baiting Smith to shoot a brick which is the same as a TO.

i think miller has instructed him to not be scared to shoot the 3

He's 27% for his career from 3s(which is equal to 40% on 2s), 54% from 2s....so you are right..

Archie needs to grow some balls and tell him absolutely no more 3s except in late clock situations until he can get that # up to 33-35% on a consistent basis.

Archie does need to light into some people, but if he does and sits guys for piss-poor play we'll likely continue to lose. I'm good with that, but some people are going to bitch if he does that and we're getting beat worse than now. Frying pan or fire choice - and no easy answer either way.

You want to crucify Archie because of our losing steak, how we have "top 25 talent" - but then flip and say Moore can't help us.

So, which is it? Where is this roster you say is good enough to be top 4 in the Big 10? How can the coach hold guys accountable by sitting their ass if he's got no one to sub them out for?

Just watched his post-RU PC...........he kinda took a Alfred E. Newman "What, me worry"? approach.....talking about wanting to make sure the guys feel good about themselves.....slow...steady....et al

I remember Knight's comment one time when he was asked whether it was important that Alford have confidence when he shot....Knight said something like 'I don't give a damn about Alford's confidence when he shoots....I want to be confident when Alford shoots'. Archie seems like more of a 'build their confidence' guy. I think by one year from today whether Archie's 'stay the course' demeanor will have worked.

We have a couple guys who can’t and shouldn’t play. So does every other team in America.

You won’t find 5 teams with a better 1-2 punch than Romeo-Morgan. And you won’t come close to finding 25 better rosters than IU’s.

No one had a problem with the talent in preseason or when things were going well. It’s the exact same team. This thing is imploding under Archie as we speak and if you can’t see it I can’t help you.
