I've been starting this thread for years and, yes, I used to roll it out on Fridays, but this is the NEW Indiana and a new era in IU football. Out with the old, including the old timing of the prediction thread!Too soon . Fridays only...been that way for years.
IU 31This one is probably gonna be a battle until the end. Turnovers probably play a role.
IU wins 27-24.
I did not know this until a couple of hours ago but Nebraska leads the nation in having both punts and field goal attempts blocked, not a stat to be proud. (per BTN).30-17 the good guys.
Place kicker will be busier than usual and 3 - 4 punts.
Special teams will be the focus more than usual and the field position from that will be important.
I did not know that, but one of the Nebraska posters said he would be surprised if we did not block one.I did not know this until a couple of hours ago but Nebraska leads the nation in having both punts and field goal attempts blocked, not a stat to be proud. (per BTN).
Win by 1 is good enough for me.Nebraska is the best team we will have faced so far, but we are the best team they will have faced, and it's in Bloomington on Homecoming with a sellout crowd! I do not see a letdown or a loss on Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if we won by 17 or 1 though. Our O will score, but our D hasn't proven to be able to shut teams down. If we hold them to FG's then this is a comfortable win. If they score TD's then it goes to the 4th quarter and we win on a FG. I'm optimistic it will be the former and not the latter, so IU to cover:
Hoosiers 34
Huskers 19
Seems like that could be fixed. Maybe is by now.I did not know this until a couple of hours ago but Nebraska leads the nation in having both punts and field goal attempts blocked, not a stat to be proud. (per BTN).
Went back and watched the block we had on Maryland. If Nebraska is THAT bad on protection, their kicker and punter may want to call in sick Saturday. I forgot how hard we drilled Maryland's punter on that block late in the game.I did not know this until a couple of hours ago but Nebraska leads the nation in having both punts and field goal attempts blocked, not a stat to be proud.
