LOL the NCAA is the most capriciously ridiculous organization i've ever encountered. in college we had a handful of foreign players on our soccer team that the ncaa randomly declared ineligible 2/3 of the way into our season. they thought they may have been paid overseas. their investigation ended after the ncaa tournament at which point the ncaa declared them eligible. unfortunately they were seniors....

They very well might but they'd have a harder time justifying it than with Williams. They said that academics is outside of their purview. Paying players directly affects amateur status per the NCAA's own rules.

Just imagine how much more of a joke they'd become of if they said they couldn't find any wrong doing then the FBI brings a bunch of indictments.
