Buckeyes with a shot at #1, having clinched the double. Does IU get a seed and at least 1 home game?

As a player alum ... getting in is all we need to make a run. Being a higher seed can have a small advantage but not enough to tip the scales. Any given day! We bring coaching and confidence can't teach either of those. I will say have the first round bye does help more than the seed

Hopefully, Michigan was the "bad game" and the guys are refocused now and eager to get back on the pitch after a 2 week break. IU historically plays some of their best soccer in Nov/Dec.

While we wait for Sunday, I'm excited for the Evansville Aces first tournament appearance since 1996. They play at UMass Thursday. If you're too young to remember, UE was a powerhouse in the late 80s/early 90s and a fierce rivalry with IU. Glad they are back after a quarter century of ineptitude.

Yes they were formidable back then. We scrimmaged against them a couple of times .. off the record so to speak. Always gave us a run.

They had pipelines to England and St. Louis back in those days, but the program went south as both those dried up. They've now got a new pipeline to Spain, which seems to have gotten them back on the map. I'm glad and will be rooting for them.

Yes. Lot of St Louis back in the day at a lot places. Always ran into talent from St Louis

Most casual soccer fans would never guess they are the only program with more stars (10) than IU (8). Of course, those all came decades ago. Last one in 1973.
No one other than casual fans know that. We never played them but ran into them across the soccer world. They liked to remind us of that. Of course when I played we didn't have 8 yet. I am a year older than Todd

Did you play in that game at Evansville in '90 during the NCAA round of 8? The Aces won 1-0 to advance to the Final Four (later the College Cup). I'll never forgot the atmosphere at that game-incredible. I started at IU in '93.

I didn't nor the St. Louis game in prior round. I was a walk on and a freshman so come tournament time ... Chad Deering had a phenomenal tourney that year. He was the best player I ever played with...,
UCLA and cobi jones I think won it that year I recall

Evansville lost to Alexi Lalas and Rutgers in the semis 1-0. It was a tough loss as the goal was "against the run of the play." Rutgers then did lose to UCLA in the finals.

Deering was a great one no doubt. So you played with 3 World Cup guys in your career? Deering, Sommer, and Maissonueve?
