Navy beats Oklahoma beats Alabama. Yeah, put the Tide in The CFP

I’m glad that since IUFB has entered the national conversation that all Hoosiers are now understanding what those of us who live in SEC country have been dealing with forever!!! The SEC USED to be heads and tails above everyone else. Clemson changed that narrative about 10 years ago and it hasn’t changed but their fans are absolutely determined to keep pushing that angle. My best friend swears that no team anywhere in the country can be competitive with an SEC schedule. We don’t talk about football as much anymore 😂

I feel really bad for your friend and his "Kiffinisum". Times they are a changing. It's funny the committee had to use a B1G team take out another B1G to help Texas, if they make it that far. They were afraid of a possible OSU- Georgia and Oregan-Texas match ups, it would have killed ESPN to have the sec knocked in the second round.

Hell Coastal Carolina was playing a bunch of walk ons. It’s every program really.
The SEC apologists will always have a laundry list of excuses whenever one of their members don’t perform as they like. Yes, kids will sit out but this is supposed to be the conference that can beat anyone with their 2nd string players. Their lower tier teams would beat the top of other conferences. Same stuff from these people every year.

Yeah, now that everyone can pay players legally, it evens the playing field.

The motto of the SEC was 'If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'.

While I enjoy seeing the SEC teams lose these bowls games as much as anyone, you can’t really make much of these bowls anymore. With opt outs and transfers, you are not really seeing regular season teams on the field.
USC had half there team it seems like either opt out or transfer and they still took down a mighty SEC team. The SEC is the best football conference top down but it being some unbeatable force is complete shit. This, in my opinion, is where the new NIL area is helping. Parity. The SEC is not Goliath anymore and probably never will be again.

The headline for the game between A&M and USC on the ESPN channel thru Fubo, was "Disappointed A&M faces off against USC". That was ESPN pushing their SEC narrative if I ever saw it.
THAT'S your headline for the game? After USC beat them, be disappointed you lost to a 6-6 B1G team.

Agree about more parity with NIL and rev share. My point about bowls being worthless still stands.

Oh yeah. I mean maybe not "worthless". It's still fun for some fans and the players that stuck around but yeah largely they are a shell of what they once were.

That's why I love the playoff. Minimal significant transfers and don't recall any opt outs. The CFP committee just needs to twerk some things. I'd consider doing away with first round home games. Make the first round bowl games. Not a hill I'd die on though.

I think “worthless” is pretty harsh. I enjoyed all of the bowl games I went to and it’s always good to add to a school’s trophy case. Players and fans enjoy them. Tom Allen saved me 3 straight seasons of bowl trips. He was better than Geico with travel expense savings. Bowl games certainly still have a helluva lot better ceremony and build-up than what they did with constructing the first round playoff games. Those are essentially just like a regular season game environments.
