What are you thoughts about Mullins? Does anyone think the change in coaches will affect things with him? Would he/his family even talk to DD? Surely DD will at least give it a shot?
Anyone with actual inside information with his family?

Sounds like Sisley is still going to be a Hoosier. Would be really nice if Mullins would have a change of heart as well.

Heard lots of talk that DD was hitting the ground running with recruiting and that it was already well underway. Hard to say about either Mullins or Haralson, but what I am confident of is that DD is going to reach out to both and see. Just situationally, you'd have to think he'd have a better shot with Haralson than Mullins, but I know Haralson picked ND because he loved Micah. Maybe a sub par season in a historically bad ACC will have him rethinking this decision. Regardless, I think you'll see DD move quickly and I am confident you'll see him at the IN HS championship games.

A Mullins flip would quickly quiet the doubters. Hopefully a big donor is willing to throw him a big offer to switch. Would be huge for DD and his momentum. Absolutely must have a great start.

talked with someone very close to the family up in Indy last week, Woodson absolutely screwed that recruitment up, kids dream was to play for IU. I doubt he would back out on UConn seems type of kid and family that will honor their commitment, next year if things don't go well there who knows

It will take stuff like that to quiet the doubters people got burned on the woodson and archie hire's and need to see results from this guy before they do jumping jacks. Not his fault its IU's fault for its past horrible hires. Only a big name hire was going to excite the majority of the fan base.

not surprising at all especially after what happened with McNeely. Woodson was already in his early 60s and never had been a college recruiter. It's one of, if not the most important aspect of the job, and he had little interest in going through the grind. Bad hire from day 1...just like CAM, another 4 yrs we cannot get back. Hope he appreciates those huge auto-depo's in his checking account. Then he can call his man QB and discuss the best options for investment. Almost feels like a shakedown.

I think DD will get us back on track. The big question is what is his ceiling. Gonna take another couple yrs to know the answer.

Yeah, it's unrealistic to expect him to get Mullins, after he's made a decision and probably has a good NIL deal from UConn if their coach expects 50% of his roster to portal and knows he's also losing a couple kids to the NBA. I'll be shocked if he doesn't reach out to he and Haralson, but all I want to see are good portal gets, and not making or breaking on those 2.

PS, if you want a name I expect to get heavy interest from IU/DD that's Owen Freeman from Iowa. I like him and he's a more mobile and comfortable big on the perimeter that should fit DD's system.

I can fully relate to and respect a decision to honor a commitment.

The decision was made under a certain data set and that data set has changed. Didn't know if the Mullins bunch would reconsider. I think DD has to at least reach out and see, but you are right in that it might not matter.

There are rumblings of Freeman already.

Has Mullins signed a letter of intent? If so, IU could not initiate contact with him. Mullins’ agent would have to initiate contact with IU.

LOI's no longer exist they are now Financial Letters of Agreement. Arethey binding like the LOI's?
I highly doubt it I do not think any rules exist anymore. You can transfer at will and get five covid years so you can still be playing when you are 25. I don't think an ncaa player has been academically ineligible in 25 years. Surely they all just got smarter. LOL!

Only will happen if Mullins is open AND DD thinks he is the right fit.

I would take whatever UCONN is giving him add another half mill. Would be worth it imo. DD needs to make a statement. The worse he can do is say no.

Kurt, I hear Hurley has a killer class coming in. Do you think selling playing time to Mullins would be a good move?

Probably too late to get him to flip, plus DeVries isn’t exactly a big name coach who will turn heads.
