MTG threatens to burn the whole thing down

Trump knew he was nominating a deeply corrupt individual in Gaetz for the AG. Why do we need to burn down the whole system to protect both Gaetz and Trump?
You don’t get to pick and choose who to destroy. All the people with skeletons should be exposed.

Let’s be honest here. The reason this is an issue with Gaetz is because Trump nominated him for AG. Something Trump did fully aware that he was under the ethics investigation. If Gaetz has simply resigned and went back to Florida, we would not be having this discussion.

Why wouldn't we want to see reports where people have been found to have covered up sexual abuse?

I would think that should be a non partisan position, but what do I know?
The Ethics Committee is totally bipartisan with five Republicans and five Democrats. Their findings will be bipartisan as will their report. It would be in Trump's interest for that report to be released to the Senate Committee which will have the first hearings on Gaetz' nomination. The report will be leaked in parts or in whole at some point anyway. The parts that have already leaked are enough for most of us to oppose his nomination. They need to tear off the band-aid or Trump or Gaetz needs to pull the nomination.

All evil acts should come to light.

I truly hope your wife continues to do well. See the difference?
Two different subjects. You've slimed a person by posting Russian disinformation (which most intelligent people would question) about the most despicable thing, short of murder, that a man could be accused of doing, yet you have no remorse for it, don't own up to it, and don't apologize for it. That's totally dishonorable. As far as I'm concerned, you're forever a dishonorable POS.

Cool story bro.

But she's willing to keep quiet about and help hide all that other stuff in exchange for them leaving Gaetz alone?

That's . . . disturbing.
Agreed. It should all come to light. Actually, it should have already happened. Most of the people “running our country” are slimeballs.

Bi partisan ethics reports by Congress should always be released. We paid for them. I don't give a shit if the person retires beforehand.

Now. The hyper partisan conspiracy theories that MTG likes to claim as fact? Um no. She can tweet those all day like she does now. But in now way should they be submitted to the public as fact.

I think she's referring to stuff like this:

I steadfastly oppose Gaetz and do so based upon what is publicly known about him.

Having said that, I also steadfastly oppose releasing the contents of the investigation. Several reasons

1. The subject of the investigation has no due process with the investigation. No right to confront an accuser or even know who it is. No right to cross examine. No right to appear and without knowing the basis of the charge, any defense would be a problem.
2. Those who appear and give testimony at the hearings have immunity from any defamation charges.
3. We cannot and must not determine this question based on Gaetz or what he has been nominated for. There is more at stake than this individual. The senate can, and should, do its own investigation.

This issue is not about Gaetz or Trump. I think Gaetz is slimy, dishonest, and has no professional demeanor. He is an awful choice for AG. That’s not enough to toss the rules and release the report.
