Creighton beats XU, 2-1. If we had gotten past Xavier, we would have hosted Creighton.

So if we had beaten X, that whole side of the bracket was set up nicely for us to make a good run-or at least have home field until the College Cup. Wasn't meant to be though.

Yep, exactly. There's always 'what ifs', but if we hadn't blown that game to Xavier, we host Creighton (not a gimme win by any stretch)...and then we host UMBC who upset both Maryland and L'ville at their places- and I think that's a more winnable game.

So it was a great opportunity for IU, that we missed.

I can't remember the last time MSU made a college cup final four- it's been decades at least, so would be kind of cool to see them make it. But it's also hard to root for a rival B1G team!
