There will be a movie coming out called Pressure about the days before D-Day. I saw it in a Band of Brothers group as Damian Lewis, actor who played Dick Winters, is playing Montgomery. It mostly concerns itself with the "go/no go" weather decision.

If you're a fan of pre-revolutionary war history or even revolutionary war history, I read "Ben Comee : A tale of Rogers's Rangers, 1758-59" on the flight out to the west coast Monday evening. Quick, extremely easy read, told in the first person of Ben Comee as he grows up on the New Hampshire frontier and eventually fights with Rogers in the French & Indian War. Not a Cooler Book Club selection, but perfect for killing time between naps on a plane.

That’s the exact response I had to episode 1. I may need to go back to season 3 and watch the last 2-3 episodes. Some emotional shit is happening and I need a refresher.
I bought my dad two books this weekend for his birthday. He’s a fan of history so I picked up the Rick Atkinson books, The British Are Coming and Fate of Day. These are the first two books in the trilogy series on the American Revolution. Fate of Day was recently released. I believe Atkinson has written extensively on WWII. Anyone read these? Did I do well?
I know. When I’m looking for something new to watch or read I often go back and check it.
You did great, I just finished #2. He wrote the Liberation Trilogy on WW2, he is one hell of a writer. Great info while keeping a great pace. He paints a picture of what is happening. He may be my favorite historical writer.
