Sounds more like a ridicule of Maga than anything else to me. For example, LGBTQ is real whether it’s a medical condition or not. Whereas Ukraine invading Russia is one of Trump‘s and Maga’s Bigfoot lies.

This whole townhall thing is a coordinated PR campaign. I'm actually surprised that (most, but not all) Republicans have been smart enough not to play along. It's a step forward for them. They used to always be so gullible.

If they really fear backlash with actual up-for-grabs voters, they can just have moderated virtual townhalls that anybody can attend. But, no, they shouldn't provide the venue for their adversaries to make viral videos of them fending off people shouting.
