And given how the portal is going this year he probably got a raise he did not deserve. I was never a fan his defense was awful.

Yeah maybe but he is slow and lazy on defense . All he offers is he can sometimes make some shots. He was incredibly overranked should have been a three star at best. I see no way he ever plays in the NBA.

Definitely better than a 3 star, but most definitely needed good coaching which he did not get. His issues on defense were effort, you hit the nail on the head by saying he was lazy.

This is why I never saw him at St. John's the effort pitino demands is pretty high. How many times did we see teams who needed a bucket go right at him because they knew he was the weakest link on defense.
I really don't care, just glad he is gone. Not a fan -- plenty of rumors about him, not sure which are true, but there is enough smoke some probably are.

Perfect place for him. Wade teams don't play defense, so Mack won't have to worry about that end as much. Basically a Fran type offensive coach, who except for one year, did worse than Fran defensively while at LSU, with more athletic talent. That guy is severely overrated. Glad IU didn't chase him.

CDD had to drain the swamp. Cause it was a mess. I hated Jakai Newton as he was the only one I held out hope of getting healthy and improving with a good coach.

He was also very stiff and poor athletically. If he is better than a 3*, it's barely.
I think he was really good athletically he just didn't process the game very quickly and he didn't show effort. His issue as with a few on IU team was lack of coaching and accountability.
So he won't always be part of the IU family? I have a question. Has it been confirmed that he texted the female player with anti semitism messages?
All rumor as far as I've seen. Also seen nothing claiming to be direct quotes or screenshots of exactly what he is alleged to have said.
I doubt Garzon would have left if it were not true. She really liked IU from all accounts.

After he started his time here with the Taco Bell incident, I sort of just assumed he's not the type of guy who thinks through his actions and their implications. I doubt he's any kind of "radical hardcore anti-semite", but I don't doubt for a second that he'd say something dumb or offensive.
I'd absolutely believe it too. So is that really what lead Garzon to leave? A dumb comment from a dumb kid? I think she was gone either way; either that or she's so easily offended that she's going to have a tough life. And I don't think she is; you develop a thick skin for trash talk playing organized sports as long as she has.
