I'll be glad when @Bulk VanderHuge gets his hammer and can take care of this shit. It's not, apparently. Stoll wouldn't commit.

I hear you but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that he makes it through the 2024 elections. The shitshow this year with the speakership has been a really bad look for the GOP and they won't want a repeat performance in the months leading up to Nov 2024. Also, while Johnson's likable and seemingly reasonable, his ideology isn't inconsistent with the far-righties. I think he hangs on.Bets on how long this guy lasts trying to rein in his crazies? Why anyone would want that job right now…
Going to be interesting..... This guy is pretty green when it comes to how the House operates, having never served in leadership. Scalise going to be leaned on a lot to keep the trains running.
A lot of members on the right flank wanted power decentralized away from leadership.. Now they get to see what that looks like and if they actually want to do the hard work that's going to be left up to the committees.
I don't know about rules, but whoever came up with it is pure comedy gold.Is "Danc-for-Brains" a real name" @TheOriginalHappyGoat ? That is a board rule, right?
I'm just glad they actually elected someone. I would have settled for a potted plant at this point.Going to be interesting..... This guy is pretty green when it comes to how the House operates, having never served in leadership. Scalise going to be leaned on a lot to keep the trains running.

I'll take one day after he caves to Wall Street pressure to keep the government open by getting a deal with dem support.Bets on how long this guy lasts trying to rein in his crazies? Why anyone would want that job right now
I think you are correct.I don't know about rules, but whoever came up with it is pure comedy gold.

"We know we look like assholes for throwing out charges to see what sticks, so here's a deal if you just walk away and forget it"
Yes, it's very descriptive - to an 8 year old. It's very descriptive and so it packs high information content.
Seriously? Slate? He's a right wing loony MAGA nutbar, but that's beside the point. The Speaker's job is getting stuff done, not driving policy. I heard he gave lip service to compromise and not necessarily getting everything you want. That may not play well with the crazy crowd. We'll know how that's going to work out in a couple weeks.
I thought this was a reasonable take:
House Republicans Finally Have a New Speaker. The Upside Is Clear. But There Are Many Downsides.
He was elected unanimously by the GOP caucus, too.slate.com
I know you're upset you can't claim Republicans can't govern - go back to crying in your pillow. Mike Lindell has one just your size.I'll take one day after he caves to Wall Street pressure to keep the government open by getting a deal with dem support.
What, it's not SALONSeriously? Slate?
* Snicker *
What, it's not SALON
Uh does that make them crazy? I bet you haven’t read any of the books from Trump’s former staffers, have you?Listen to the 2nd one - it's unedited. Then tell me it's just a cussing out.
She bullies her staff like Hillary did. But she's your kind of gal.
This will be a totally different board.I'll be glad when @Bulk VanderHuge gets his hammer and can take care of this shit.
Impressed that he got the support of moderate Rs. Hoping he'll find a path to keep the government open (with support for Ukraine thrown in, but first things first).Going to be interesting..... Time will tell. Won't it?I know you're upset you can't claim Republicans can't govern - go back to crying in your pillow. Mike Lindell has one just your size.
Irony is ironic.Get out of your bubble.
Oh I think he is very far right. He was one of the main election deniers and worked with Trump to overturn it. . He’s anti abortion at any time, anti LGBTQ, against military assistance to Ukraine. He also has very little leadership experience. Should be a good guy to continue the clown show.I hear you but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that he makes it through the 2024 elections. Haha. You think this guy is going to prove Republicans can govern? Bless your heart.I know you're upset you can't claim Republicans can't govern - go back to crying in your pillow. Mike Lindell has one just your size.
Why don't you pick up a rifle and head on over to the front lines? We're tired of paying for this bs. There's over a 1000 kids who were incinerated to death in Maui. Why not send that community some money instead of the Ukrainian Nazis?Impressed that he got the support of moderate Rs. Hoping he'll find a path to keep the government open (with support for Ukraine thrown in, but first things first).
In all seriousness, hoping Cong. Johnson turns out to be the skilled legislator we need to get through the next couple months.
Mike Johnson looks like he’s gonna be the guy.
Oh honey. 1000 kids incinerated? The Maui death toll is at 97. Have you EVER considered reliable news sources? And the government has been supporting Maui, it’s people, and the rebuild. Why don't you pick up a rifle and head on over to the front lines? We're tired of paying for this bs. Another. Stay away from her gingerbread house!!!C'mon, there are just too many to many - my memory isn't what it used to be.
Is your whole life about Trump? If so…you should be good friends with Shooter.
Where do we stand on The Biden Crime Family? I'd vote that it not be allowed unless this font is used: The Biden Crime Family. No, those are not okay. I don't think Danc-for-brains should be allowed, either, but I'm not unilaterally adding new rules.
Oh and someone is crazy because you don’t like their looks? Yup that’s the GOP all right.

What is negative news worth now days on the fiction book tour? People that can't do things read about others that either are doing things, have done things OR talk about shit that never happened just because they spent the time to claim a name that is publishable.Uh does that make them crazy? I bet you haven’t read any of the books from Trump’s former staffers, have you?
lol. You probably didn't know who Mike Johnson was until this morning, but you've already made up your mind about how this mild mannered, obscure republican legislator will perform as speaker.Haha. You think this guy is going to prove Republicans can govern? Bless your heart.
I don't know how to make a superscript one on this crappy site. You are a lawyer, you know it needs a TM.

Actually, it would be more ironic if irony wasn’t ironic.Irony is ironic.
A few observations:This is f*cking gold. It's not a Trump problem folks it's a rino problem. Love this guy listen
This is why you can't become a mod and stop posting.Actually, it would be more ironic if irony wasn’t ironic.
