It's up to each AD, but in the B10 only IU has committed to overpaying the base revenue sharing $$ for basketball next season. Villanova is doing that as well. It will be the schools that have the $$ from their football programs (like Bama, TX A&M, and TN) and the schools that are committed to basketball (like Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky). The rest have to pay 85 football players and keep their biggest earning sport at the highest level possible. That takes the majority of their $$. Those that aren't paying for a FBS program have $$ to give to basketball, and the Big East has the best programs for that to happen.

It is but if there is no football then your revenue goes to mainly basketball. So if the big east teams get 42 million with no football to feed….

Yes, that's definitely true. But now you have the rev share upcoming. Schools can agree to rev share up to $20.5 million, I believe. Most P4 football schools are stating they'll do about $14M towards football, which leaves $6M for MBB and WBB or whatever other sport they choose. Well, a Big East school might have less revenue overall, but they could decide to allocate $8-$10M or whatever number they wish towards MBB because they don't have any other revenue sports.

NCAA Men's Basketball is an absolute shit show right now.

It needs some adults, with big brass balls, to step up and take control of all this.

If they're going to financially benefit from ALL the literal billions of dollars that are generated...and yes, I whole heartedly agree they should be compensated more than they used to be...but if they are, with many of them to the tune of multiple 7 figures worth of money a year... then they damn well can abide by binding contracts.

They’re not professional athletes. Why should they make 7 figures. If that’s the case make them pay for their education. NIL is bullshit.
