Maryland/Indiana Prediction Thread

IU 31
MD 16

Depending on what the tropical storm does to the weather on Saturday, it could be a lower scoring game.
Either way, if we can gash them on the ground early and often, I expect a lot of short passes and a run heavy game. Take their secondary out of the picture and keep the ball out of their hands.

Ugly game. Maybe with the weather turnovers play a bigger role than they have for IU in first 4 games?

Maryland has more talent than IU does. And they have a coach that's been there a few years, so there's some continuity.

Historically, these are the types of games, and situations, where IU falters, and takes a step or two back with a bad loss. Losing to Maryland wouldn't necessarily be a bad loss, but with the start, it'd sure be disappointing.

I think we're a more well rounded team. We'll end up winning because of that.

33-20 IU.

A rain soaked 28 - 24 W for the Hoosiers.
Honestly if it were pretty I think I'd expect a greater spread.
Maryland scores late to make it look closer than it was.
O/U is 53.5 now according to Fox Sports. I'd take the under if weather is as expected.
Go Hoosiers!
It is not expected to go to Bloomington as it curves to Illinois after hitting us in Southern Indiana along the river.

At this point, if Triple C told me there was a flying saucer traveling behind a comet and that I needed to leave my physical body to ascend to the flying saucer, I would believe him.

IU 38
Small Turtles 17
That would actually be a gentleman known as Marshall Applewhite, He was also a big fan of Nike.

I'm not going to go with a gut feel or let my emotional bias toward IU affect this prediction. Just purely using statistics to date, the math says: IU 51 -- MD 9.

Not sure why ESPN only has IU as 7-point favorites, with a 31-24 score (O/U=55.5). They must be using chicken bones and astrology to predict scores.

I picked IU to lose to UCLA a few weeks back, so I'll continue with my reverse jink strategy:

Maryland 28
IU 17

IU - 28
MD - 14

Weather is not going to be good and IU has a more balanced attach and better rushing game. Expect this to be more a ground game and short passing when able. MD really only has one threat at WR and expect them to run screen's or Jet sweeps to get him the ball but pushing down the field doesn't seem realistic if the weather reports hold. Expect both teams will key more to the run and don't expect much in the way of field goal attempts unless in close.
