MARCH MADNESS BS

I love that. I know there's at least three things my stoker and I both subscribe to and don't know it
I can't believe this doesn't already exist. I suspect it does but, if so, COME ON ALGORITHMS I'M YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE.

I'll have to check it out.

I have a roku at home and it (kinda) does a similar thing where you can purchase the subscriptions through Roku and manage them there. But not all my subscriptions originated through Roku, etc.

How long until all the streaming subscriptions are just "bundled" with your internet bill.... and we are all right back where we started with old fashioned cable?

the cable/streaming forced bundle is the biggest total ripoff going, and absolutely should be illegal.

you should be able to sub to whatever channels you wish, and not the ones you don't.

no where else in business are you forced to buy a bunch of things you don't want, to get the thing or things you do.

I have had Direct so long I bought my first setup at Walmart and installed it myself. I'm used to it and the streaming seems just like you currently, they don't all carry everything. I was on hold with my 3rd person on one phone and got a call on my cell from a manager who actually spoke English and apparently got it taken care of.

no offense, but i have a hard time believing you actually got to speak with someone who spoke English.

no way that actually happened.

Ever buy a pack of baseball cards? :)

(I agree and would love to pay for channels à la carte).

It did but was about the 4th person up the command chain. I don't know where she was from perhaps just spoke good English.

So it appears the lion's share of games are going to be on Tru Tv, TBS, and TNT. I have FuboTV, Discovery +, Hulu, Netflix, HBO Max, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and I'm sure others I'm missing. But FuboTv no longer carries Tru, Tnt, TBS. So now If I want to watch the tournament I presume I have to add another $70.00 a month service. Seriously WTF
Switch to YouTube TV.

Back before Direct and Dish taking over you could do that if you had a big dish. Granted they were ugly and wind issues and keeping everything in tune but you could buy what you wanted and all kinds of crazy wild feeds. You could find a lot of sports for free . Could get Canadian channels . I watch about 25% of the channels at most I get so I can get what I want. You had to take time to move the dish around but most stuff was pretty close in the center of the arc. I remember G1 was dubbed the big burner and had the best stuff on it. Not sure what year I switched over.

The economists would call that Equilibrium.

I'm down to $108 total per month for Direct for the next month. How big is your family? Granted growing up we only had a family dinner out when someone besides dad was paying for it

like most families spend $151 for dinner out, as opposed to $15 at McDonalds, or $25 at Cafe' Pizzaria or Mother Bears, or $15 for carry out Dominoes.

when cable hit Indy, 41 channels including ESPN cost $6.95 a month.

and there was 24 hr customer service manned locally providing jobs locally, so they spoke great English and knew what you were talking about if you had a problem, and actually fixed the problem.

of course, that was before the Pubs saved us from over regulation.

I, strangely, have zero problem with this.
It depends how they do it. Are they going to tie it to your wifi? So we need a second subscription if we're on vacation at a condo or if someone has a second house they'd need another subscription there?

We use a primary cable subscription in Indy that we are able to tie back into for certain channels at the beach where we use basic streaming services.

Most menu prices up 20% with generally marginal service and the kitchen performance is inconsistent at best.
It's insane. Way more than getting stuff from the store. My daughter loves trashed wings. $17 as an app. French dip $18. So lunch without booze is north of a $100. 4 sandwiches at $15 each and one app. $75.00. Throw in sodas/lemonade another $15. You're at $90. $20 tip for $110 lunch. And that's without booze. Throw in some margaritas and lunch can go to approaching $150. It's insane. We go here a lot because they have trashed wings, tvs everywhere for sports, and a deck that you can bring your dog. Not fancy at all! Just a restaurant/bar/sports bar and an outdoor bar. And that's the price of all the bar type places we go for lunch. In your SO Fla days compare it to the Ale House

Good point. But god I hate freeloaders
