Make Leal a starter

Yeah, his view on MM's shooting prowess surprised me, but he does have a really nice looking stroke and he is our best FT shooter, which go hand in hand, normally. I think it was hyperbole, and I don't think he said best ever, he said best since Jay Edwards, so that would exclude Jay and some other guy from New Castle who was known to shoot the rock OK.
Kent Benson? :)

NIL is the worst thing to happen to college sports in a long time.
Unless you're a player. Seriously, doesn't bother me at all, and as with Edey this year, it might lure a kid back for another year, which I love. I think its about creating a culture. Purdue's kids have bought in, and I'm sure they are all making some $$, and they added a Lance Jones through the portal. It's gonna make it harder, but I think that culture piece is the crucial ingredient.

To each their own, I guess.

Not overreacting on the shot but he seems to have some leadership potential out there. Get him more PT and see what happens. Clearly best chemistry we had on the floor all year with that group.

Nice job boys.
Leal.

Is he the part of the answer...I have no real idea. I'm not a coach. I don't watch practice. Etc.

I don't like the fact that CMWs starting five is ALWAYS his starting five. I don't like my wife telling me what the substitution pattern is and when it's going to happen (and saying..."you're right"...). My wife is a fan...a SUPER fan (inclined to curse in a manner I have not heard since I sat next to RMK's first wife Nancy...who I love.)

FFS. This board knows CMW's sub pattern.

I just feel like...unlike CMW's coach RMK...Woodson never changes things up ... to find a starting five...his key subs...

Ach.

Is Leal better then Cupps right now yes but our guards are probably the worst in the big ten just shows you how much help we need and why the hell Woodson didn't add another guard before the season. Going forward Indiana has to bring in atleat five guards to go with Reneau, McNeeley, I'm not even counting Newton because he is always hurt expecting Mgbako, Ware, to leave Cupps as a backup not sure if Galloway comes back for a covid year but he should be out 6th man.

To each their own, I guess.
I'd be fine with amendments to it, but I do think athletes, especially in the major sports, should be able to make money some how for all they give adn the money they make for the schools. I think it was dumb to just throw the gates open without any sort of plan, but I also think the NCAA recognized how bad they are at overseeing things and also how they can get beaten when challenged legally and just threw in the towel. If your whole plan revolves around reloading through the portal each year, then yeah, I think your program's going to struggle. Again, hate to keep pointing at PU, but they have a good culture and used the portal to address a specific need. Seems like a better plan to me.

Well, if you believe Cavanaugh, MM arrived in town with one foot out the door. I’d guess Ware did too. Not saying they’re selfish players per se, but they are only in town to showcase their NBA mettle.

As for those who really care about their teammates, watch the body language of those sitting on the bench. Most have their elbows on knees leaning forward focusing on the game action. You’ll also see a couple sitting back relaxing like they’re enjoying a day at the beach.
And no matter what people think, they are more concerned with their draft status than the team and I don't really blame them. It's just the reality of today's game where many kids view college as nothing more than a stepping stone to the NBA.

It is IF that's the culture you create and foster. I believe there are teams playing college basketball where this isn't nearly as big a deal as it seems to be in Bloomington. Stands to reason that a life-long NBA coach who makes it a practice to pitch recruits on his ability to get them to the league, you'd naturally have that culture. It's exactly the opposite of how teams used to be built.
