Looks like we’ll see plenty of McCollum…

McCollum was left with nothing when DeVries left, I think he inherited one player. I would’ve been happy with either at Iowa, but McCollum’s success this year is his own. How well it translates to the B1G, we’ll have to find out
A fair observation. Of course players matter, but there are clearly things setup within a program outside of just the players that can make or break the success of a program. That’s not to say McCollum isn’t a good coach. I’d have been happy with him as well. I was on board with him before DeVries, mainly because he was on the Hot Board so looked us his accomplishments first.

Drake has had a great run starting with medved..then DD...then BM.

All three guys are very good fundamentally sound coaches.
I suspect all three programs will improve...probably IU the most as they are so well positioned with fanbase, legacy, recruiting footprint and money .

DD is very solid.

Don't overlook his dominating success in D2 which he continued in his conference play this year. Hit the wall of simply superior talent in the opponents in the tournament but have little doubt that he'll have Iowa near the top of the B1G routinely.
