This isn’t sour grapes I promise, but I was a bit leery of getting him. We got some good prospects and a guy that has started games the last two seasons. I can see getting a journeyman for insurance.
He said he didn’t go to GA because Kirby wouldn’t give him assurances he could “compete” for the starting job which is different from what people were saying he said about Indiana. People here were saying he wanted guaranteed a starting spot and that’s not what he said when he mentioned UGA. I mean I guess he could have made that demand of us and not them, but my question is what coach in their right mind would ever tell a 5 star qb they won’t have a chance to compete for the starting job in year 1? The best players should play at any position regardless of age. So, it sounds a little strange to me that they are saying that about UGA.I realize that but that’s why I also included where he can probably afford to make sure his parents can attend his games. But it is 700 miles closer than LA. And yes some thought he might go to Georgia.
