Lewis on Macafee show RIGHT NOW announcing his choice!!! It’s COLORADO. NT

Speaking of dads, I went to a high school game in Michigan last Friday. Freshman starting at QB. Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State heavily recruiting him according to the guy I sat with.

His dad was an absolute idiot in the stands.

If I was a coach at a big time school, I’d drop the kid from my list. No one wants to put up with that BS.

Plenty will put up with it. And he'll have every camp in the country clamoring after him for the next 4 years.

But I agree, with the portal nowadays, there are too many really talented, and proven solid team first leaders out there, to spend tons of money on players that have that sort of baggage.

The flip side...the kid himself can be, and often is, a much better person than their parents/handlers are.

I guarantee ya Coach CIG wouldn't.

Kids good but his dad was asking for some wild stuff supposedly.
And here is the point where the NIL stuff may fall apart. You recruit a Kid like this Who has never played a down of College Football, and You give Him a deal that greatly exceeds everybody else on the Team. That in itself will create some resentment from the Players that have produced for You for 3 or 4 years. If the Kid doesn't live up to His Expectations, things will be even worse. It's like a Salary Cap in Pro Sports. If You throw so much money at the hot young commodity that You don't have enough to spread to other good Players and Recruits, You will lose Players to the Portal, and not have enough ammunition to win the next recruiting War.
The Second problem may be Buyer's remorse. Once the novelty wears off, People and Businesses will be looking for a Return on their Investment. If it's not there, They will find a different way to spend their Money in the future, There are only so many jock sniffing Trust beneficiaries out there with more Money than sense who will continue to fund these arrangements regardless of results.

I agree. I don't see how this system is sustainable in the long term without some sort of controls.

Problem there is that any type of reasonable pay scale for incoming freshman that's implemented based on good intentions will almost immediately be circumvented by the return of the bad old days with under the table deals done with friends, family, unscrupulous agents and even straight cash or hidden offshore deals done by "bagmen"...

No kidding. Enquiring minds need to know!
He wants a big NIL, wants to be a day one starter and has a high maintenance dad.

If he just wanted the NIL, he would be a Dawg but the other two things aren’t happening.

Quoted from a usc chat. Replying to Ga fans. His dad is a head case enough Kirby Smart and Cig said no. Rumor is there is a plan for portal after.( if Prime leaves Colorado). That’s pretty much it.

His dad, TC Lewis, is essentially his agent. Not sure about his dad’s demands but he is all about the money. Ju Ju earlier said:

“Shoot, money's life," Lewis commented. "I've got to help provide for my family. I bought my first car. I bought my dad's car. It's definitely been a blessing to go through the process. But my whole thing is football. I'll make more in the NFL than I will right now in high school or college off NIL."

His comments about NIL with On3 weren't the first time, as he told Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders he was impressed with Texas' exotic cars on his visit.

“I’m not gonna lie, Texas had all that Lambo stuff going on. That junt was cool,” Lewis said. “Like, when they had that stuff. Stuff like that, that’s an eye-catcher for being a 16-year-old. You’re like, gonna go and get a Lambo. Stuff like that. That junt cool. I don’t really know.”

He told Sanders that Lamborghini is his dream company to work with. The company has worked with Texas in the past.”

Be interesting to see how a 17 year old who reclassified from the 2026 class leads Colorado as a true frosh and an underaged one at that. We saw how Dennis Raiola adapted this year as the 2024 class #2 QB in the country as the season wore on.

Dylan Riola has been pretty solid, overall. Is Dennis his dad? Not sure how he's handled it all?

Maybe a couple years at Colorado will be a humbling experience for JuJu, and he'll sense his football mortality a little more, and he'll be a good portal option for Cig in a couple years. Probably ends up similar money, without the entitled attitude to work though if it goes like that for him and the next school. Basically zero chance he sticks at Colorado if thats his primary focus, especially if Deion leaves.

Meant Dylan, the player. Typo.

He’ll probably look a lot like Khristian lander did against big 10 players his freshman year.

I would be willing to bet he'll never see time in Bloomington. Cig hits me as the type of guy that only offers a chance once. And the fact he wants to see performance vs potential. See ya JuJu and daddy...good luck getting those matching lambos. WTH is a junt anyway?

I think the real reason he decommitted from USC to Colorado was because he didn’t want to have to play against us next year! Imho!
After talking to a little birdie who got it from a big birdie Lewis didn’t want to play that far from home. And yes Colorado isn’t that much closer. But then again he can probably afford to fly them out now. And according to that little birdie who is familiar with Carrollton program he is not exactly loved by his teammates. Arrogant.

So, Coach Prime slipped up and said JuJu’s name on a podcast today’s when he was supposed to be speaking in generalities. I wonder if CO will get any punishment for that. I was actually surprised he engaged in the conversation on it and then after he said his name I was shocked.

CO is nowhere near closer to Carrollton than IN is. I live less than an hour drive from Carrollton and IN is only a 7 hour drive from here. Boulder is 3 times that. I don’t think he picked CO over IN because of distance. He had many better choices to stay closer to home.

I realize that but that’s why I also included where he can probably afford to make sure his parents can attend his games. But it is 700 miles closer than LA. And yes some thought he might go to Georgia.

And he still might. Just waiting for Georgia to up the ante!
