As someone posted previously, why sign the agreement if you want to entertain other options? Seems like bad advice from his agent.
Seeing a lot of sniping about the agent(s) on Twitter...and not exclusively from IU people. Sounds like they've created a rep for themselves prior to this one.As someone posted previously, why sign the agreement if you want to entertain other options? Seems like bad advice from his agent.
Now that we're a few years in to NIL, I would think there's enough time and evidence available, that Coaches and Administrators, and the NCAA could come up with some sort of binding commitment contract.
Portal window dates very clear, and a hugely important part of the process.
In order to transfer, without having to sit out, you have to both enter the portal during approved times, and SIGN A COMMITMENT LETTER, during that time as well.
Commitment letters can be waived if the coaching staff changes, if there's a family medical emergency, etc... But for the most part, if you "back out" after signing a commitment letter, it comes with an automatic 1 year redshirt.
If these "kids" feel they deserve big boy money (they do), then they can take on the commitments and responsibilities normal adults take on when they get paid for work.
Makes me think I should look into becoming an agent. Can't be harder than negotiating a plea agreement.I can’t know for sure, but it really seems like an agent issue. UAB people have great things to say about him.
I wouldn’t blame the player.

Green was told to leave.Really excited about this kid. Hope he's here to stay.
Played on a 3-9 team and averaged 5.3 yds per carry, and much more the year before.
Had 884 rush yds. The two other TBs that played had 168 and 162, and averaged 4.7 & 4.0 ypc.
Presumably a pure power guy as he only averaged 7.3 on his 30 receptions.....so, possibly, not real explosive but has good hands.
Will be interesting to see what they do about a 3rd TB. The freshman, Cuono, is a borderline top 100 guy out of Florida, but only listed as 5'10" 185 lbs. Might need to add some muscle. Martin, the RS freshman, was not highly recruited. Might Green return out of the portal? ON 3 site lists him as the #750 portal guy in the country.....did not get a lot of exposure this year. Perhaps he wants to go to a smaller school for more PT...............or do they try to get a 2nd portal guy? They were pretty committed to using 3 backs this past season.
Im really excited about the kid also. Not as good as Jordan Howard but he is high level. People should e ecstatic.Really excited about this kid. Hope he's here to stay.

I think he is big time. Couldnt be more stoked about this.Watch some film on Beebe, he's quicker than you might think on the onside & hits hard on the inside runs & has great hands catching the ball. Plus he has 2 yrs. eligibility left.
I'm with you when you're right!I think he is big time. Couldnt be more stoked about this.
Ha. I guess it depends how you feel about sourcing new business. I’m not sure what that process is typically like with these players…Makes me think I should look into becoming an agent. Can't be harder than negotiating a plea agreement.
