As someone posted previously, why sign the agreement if you want to entertain other options? Seems like bad advice from his agent.
Seeing a lot of sniping about the agent(s) on Twitter...and not exclusively from IU people. Sounds like they've created a rep for themselves prior to this one.As someone posted previously, why sign the agreement if you want to entertain other options? Seems like bad advice from his agent.
Now that we're a few years in to NIL, I would think there's enough time and evidence available, that Coaches and Administrators, and the NCAA could come up with some sort of binding commitment contract.
Portal window dates very clear, and a hugely important part of the process.
In order to transfer, without having to sit out, you have to both enter the portal during approved times, and SIGN A COMMITMENT LETTER, during that time as well.
Commitment letters can be waived if the coaching staff changes, if there's a family medical emergency, etc... But for the most part, if you "back out" after signing a commitment letter, it comes with an automatic 1 year redshirt.
If these "kids" feel they deserve big boy money (they do), then they can take on the commitments and responsibilities normal adults take on when they get paid for work.
